Been eating Vietnamese food in Victoria St for over 30 years.
Van Mai is my favourite.
The food is great.
The service always quick and efficient.
I have never left Van Mai, hungry.it!

Best chicken I’ve ever had in my life. The prawn spring rolls are also elite. Service is lovely and I’ll be coming back here for sure. 5 stars.

I have frequent Van Mai for more years than I care to remember. Good value traditional Vietnamese. I almost live on Pho, so they deliver on the promise of Traditional.

I came here on the weekend. The waiter gave me all my food for free because I was pregant. The food service was super fast it came out within 2 minutes even thought I ordered $500 worth of food

I only found out about this place by chance because I live so close.

Food is super tasty! This is my go to place for delicious Sweet and Sour Fish Soup and caramelised pork belly clay pot.my favourite dish here, and it is their specialty. I keep coming back again and again. Highly recommended for traditional Vietnamese fare!

Waited an hour for my food when we asked where it was they said they were “busy”. The restaurant wasn’t even half full. Horrible experience. DO NOT COME HERE.

Food was fine not as good as I expected from the reviews I read.
Service was good and attentive but one meal was forgotten from the order. Mid afternoon on a Saturday so was very quiet.

I come here often for a hearty Vietnamese meal. Very traditional home cooked meal vibes. My favourite dish is the salt and pepper tofu. You won't find a better salt and pepper tofu anywhere else.

Everything on the menu is great. Would highly recommend Van Mai for any day of the week. Except Tuesday (they're closed Tuesdays).

Minh and the team are fantastic! The food and service I feel is next level and certainly worth it. Personally love taking my friends here and have hosted many business meetings here. This place to super tasty!

Can recommend a stop in, order anything (or everything), you certainly will not be disappointed.

We had the pork and wonton soup, pork chop rice and fried eggplant. It was properly enough food for 4 people but had gave it our best. In the end we took takeaway for the next days lunch.

Grabs a Vietnamese beer, we had a couple of 333s, they went down perfectly with the food.

Ordered some prawn crackers to go with my meal, $4 for a size that was smaller than a soccer ball containing about 15 of them.wasn’t impressed - usually $2 for a size that needs its own shopping bag.

Throughout all of the restaurants i been to this is the best one i am speechless by how good the food is I recommend everyone to try the food here!

Van Mai has been our favourite Victoria St Vietnamese for some years now. Service is always friendly and attentive and every family member has a favourite dish. When organising a birthday party at home recently I discovered Van Mai also does catering. Minh was a pleasure to deal with when organising the menu and the details for our event. Nothing was too much trouble, including supplying the crockery required and, best of all, the lovely Ha. What an indulgence! Ha was a very diligent and able waitress who was responsible for heating and serving the food at our event. She was competent and capable and very pleasant to deal with. Our guests commented on her service and she helped turn the event into a special occasion for everyone. Best of all - she washed up afterwards and left my kitchen clean and organised. Thanks Ha and thank you Minh! We will continue to support Van Mai.

The Tom yum with prawns was incredible, highly recommend with the vermecelli rice noodles. Delicious!

An unsung hero. Away from the high volume places, in Victoria St, spacious, with attentive staff. Shared a beef salad, calamari with salt and pepper, and 3 other dishes, with 4 friends. Freshly prepared, just a fantastic meal.
