Union Electric Bar & Rooftop Gin Garden

Best bar in Melbourne! Always super friendly & attentive staff, delicious cocktails, epic selection of gin & awesome vibes! If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

The service was great, very helpful bar staff and the cocktails are to die for, so delicious.
The Union Electric rooftop bar is a hidden little gem, a must do when in Melbourne.

Small outdoor rooftop bar. Very cool vibe. There is heating around the upstairs bar. Would definitely stop by for another cocktail or two

Overall poor service and poor quality of drinks.

Note: I know management is going to respond to this with snarky comments so I'm going to address their points.

1. This is not a new account.
2. This is a genuine review and yes I did attend the venue.
3. Stop defending your poor management with condescending and judgemental comments as if you're perfect. Because you should take the 1 star feedback and reflect on how your staff is lazy and rude.
4. If they ultimately reply with a comment defending their behaviour - they've proven point 3.

A good hidden secret, randomly scrolled through maps as I strolled down the street and saw this.
A great find, plenty of amazing gins, and a quaint little spot.

- there is a queue
- there is nobody leaving for an hour.

If that is not the case, then why not suggest that we wait 5 minutes until someone leaves…if it’s even true on a Sunday at 6pm?

Disrespectful staff and management. We loved this place until today. From the sudden the waiter told us the table was reserved and we only had half an hour. The way she told us wasn’t right at all. Looking at the website it says they do not make bookings but apparently if they have a VIP booking they can do that. Just leaving this review so you are mindful and ask before sitting and ordering.

Getting into the dramatic side, staff reported it we were abusing here after asking about it, why our table, why none one told us about it. The supervisor reaction couldn’t be worst than aggressive, zero problem solving and customer friendly. They did refund the money after that was the first we request after being absolutely disappointing on the idea of leaving.

Small place outdoors on a rooftop in an alleyway off China town. Eclectic and nice service. Our cocktails were fresh and tasty. Lovely on a warm afternoon.

Gin selection is absolutely brilliant, venue is fantastic and all of the staff are chill as. My new favourite place to visit when I come to Melbourne.

Mostly gin (is a gin bat after all) but beer (on tap and bottled) wine and other spirits available, went the afternoon they do $5 dollar drinks and burgers (unsure of how often this is, we were there on a sunday) and burgers were fantastic value and yummy. Very friendly atmosphere, staff were very good. Continually filled up our glasses of water and asked if we wanted more drinks. Little bit of a wait at the bar but very busy so understandable. Venue is on the small side with up and down stairs, but bars on both floors and day we went they had a bar outside front with the burgers cooking. Only down side I could find was the toilets were like a sauna. Not bad, would go again.

Lovely door staff. Got inside and my boyfriend politely asked female bar staff where the toilet was. Unbeknown to her, I was sat at the bar. Said bar member rolled her eyes and slagged my boyfriend off to a colleague for asking where the toilet was.saying he should use his eyes. Toilets are not clearly signposted. Very unprofessional and disrespectful to paying patrons.

My partner and my fave spot, it's a bit tucked away and I love the rooftop set up. Great service and they make a mean cocktail!

Always a good place to drop in for a cocktail or five. Recent visit saw table service only and a limited printed cocktail menu. Staff can make cocktail recommendations but would be nice for more options in front of you. Still there was a good vibe and staff were friendly so would continue to recommend as a solid bar hop location.

Really good cocktails and friendly service, the stools are not designed for a long session though. And i'm not just saying this because I'm old, the young ones I was drinking with all complained too.
