Umbrella Lounge Bar

I travel by train from St. Albans especially to visit Temo and his bar/lounge. The menu's offerings are enticing but I take advantage of more mundane fare as I'm not a big eater. Temo understands; his steak sandwich and wild toasties w/side salad hit the spot perfectly. I can leave my plate half-finished and go outside for a change of scenery, returning later to finish off.
So cool.
Plus, for once, a venue where the background music isn't blaring or giving one the impression the artist/s are in physical or emotional distress.

Stumbled upon Umbrella in Elsternwick (only Georgian restaurant in Melb) this evening. Never interested before but thought let's pop in for one drink & see. The atmosphere was great, interesting deco, live singer / piano player, the food looked AMAZING. We had to stay.

Temo the owner - cooks, cleans, serves, makes cocktails, dish washer, and still finds time to come tell a few jokes & get to know you. He sleeps 4 hours a day, and takes 1 day off a year and enjoys every minute of it.

Highly recommend - we will definately be back!

It was wonderful, so cozy, like a family. We took a trio of appetizers, lamb skewers and khinkali. It was very tasty, especially eating with live music.

A delightfully unique lounge bar with a different interior design that stands out from any given crowd and has an eclectic clientele, a varied musical repertoire with regular live bands and musicians, and a menu that contains a spread of culinary delicacies as well as a range of wines from Georgia and beyond. Temo is a warm and personable host, keen on striking up a conversation, and who will go out of his way to make your evening enjoyable and memorable, and culturally rich and significant. Great place with unique food fun vibe and good service. Nice atmosphere and lots of events here. Much better than its predecessor, ednas.

Food here is so authentic and made with so much love. The service is also excellent and you feel like you are walking into a friend's home. Well done, a true gem!

This restaurant felt like a warm hug just as Temo described our wine would taste. The food was served with love and was divine. Temo’s love for Georgian food shines through. The atmosphere is so beautiful and homely you’ll want to stay for hours just sitting and enjoying your Georgian wine and the lovely music. We can’t wait to go back due to its charming owner.

Our daughter said make sure you are hungry…. And that advice was spot on. A great feed, interesting atmosphere, a passionate and super friendly owner. We came away very well fed. The Georgian Banquet exposed us to a variety of Georgian food. Each dish well explained. The Georgian Cheese bread (xachapuri) was a big hit right at the start. Everything else full of flavour, texture and of course very filling.

Eclectic. Food unexpectedly delicious. Service is personal. You just should say hello. I will return in the new year. Not local for me, so special trip, lots of parking at the rear. Not everyone's cup of tea, which is why we went.

The umbrella lounge bar was a lovely casual place to have a coffee and chat to relax at before our movie thankyou for the great services we'll b back xxx

Very nice Georgian food! We had a wonderful father's day lunch there today. Must try hinkali, hachapuri and phali.big portions, so we couldn't try everything on the menu. We will be back to try shaslhlik

This restaurant was fantastic! The service was incredible, the owner is so kind and welcoming. When entering, you feel instantly at home with the comfortable seats to the delicious food. The Xachapuri is amazing, as well as Ostri. If you want to try new cuisine, this is the place to start.

An incredibly large area of land is occupied by the lounge & bar, with a very detailed provision of bar & cafe like resources. The time I went down there on this occasion, we were incredibly lucky enough to present during the live performance of a remarkably talented singer, pianist, Gabe! Very cool.

Delicious food and amazing hospitality - a must visit and definitely worth coming back again and again.
