Truemans Golf Range reviews
65 I have to say the negative reviews on here made me a tiny bit anxious about coming here. I had all 3 of my kids with me aged 7,5 and 3. Based on some of the reviews here I thought having 3 little kids who’d never swung a club might be met with resistance so I braced myself for an issue.
However the proprietors were genuinely lovely and had clubs to accommodate even my 3 year old daughter. It was not only not a problem, they were extremely welcoming and my kids really enjoyed it.
I felt obligated to put a good review up because in light of our positive experience with 3 little kids especially, I think the poor reviews are completely out of line.
If you think you’re Tiger Woods and that god blessed you not only with the ability to smash a driver 400 yards but the right to do it wherever you please also. Or if striking anything other than brand new titleist pros is an afront to your burgeoning professional golf career, then do find somewhere else to have a hit - leave this place to us.
Honestly please try this place out. Support their business. Take your kids. Ignore the entitled posers who think a $24 bucket of balls should come with a butler and bottomless caviar.
A place for naive holiday makers. A lot of locals steer clear. Really over rated golf range, well over priced food. Would be better off as a sheep farm. I thought they accidentally served the charcoal from the fire instead of the pizza. Pretenders.
Great venue with good beers and nice pizza. Shame on the farmers nearby for complaining about drivers.
This place is a joke! Ordered a $26 small pizza, 1 hr later they told me they’ve forgot our order. Lady had nerve to say I was very rude when I questioned why it was talking so long. Avoid this place at all costs.
Great to practice your irons and wedges to get a free beer! Making your own Pizza and beer is great too.
Never thought we would have so much fun hitting some golf balls. The staff was very helpful and gave us very good advice as we are totally novice. Price is so reasonable, you can have a lot of fun without breaking the bank.
Gorgeous quiet driving range, just can't use drivers ;) Max distance 200m, but since I can barely hit a ball that didn't bother me.
Has a deck and cold beer on tap, with wood fired pizzas on Friday and Saturday nights. Shame it closes at 8.9 would be better!
Very relaxed and fun way to spend some time on the weekend. Great facilities, friendly staff. Free clubs to use, just buy a basket of balls and away you go.
Family friendly, a great place to let the kids have a whack. Fun for the whole family. We loved it.
Amazing place to visit while down at the peninsula. Have a hit of golf, a couple of drinks and the pizza is absolutely delicious. So much fun- A must visit when down this way.
One of our group was yelled at by the owner. She was accused of not following instructions when no instructions were given. Pizzas were burnt.
Would have been a nice night but spoiled by the owner’s arrogance, and rudeness, yelling at one of our party, because we apparently did not follow instructions, that their junior staff actually did not provide - this is a fact. We waited for 45 min for pizzas which did not turn up, and were told they had not started cooking them yet, at which point a refund for food only was grumpily offered, but not for golf balls, which we had not used at all yet. After pizzas finally arrived they were very burnt. For $25 each for a 10 “ pizza, this is pretty unacceptable. The other owner/partner quite nicely tried to explain the male owner worked long hours and they were short staffed, but there is really just no excuse for yelling at a customer like he did. He also refused to apologise or acknowledge that all of the pizzas were pretty badly burnt. Other customers were actually quite shocked and commented how burnt the pizzas were when we walked past them. You’d think good customer service would be to at-least offer a complimentary drink or similar as an apology. If you read some of the owners responses to complaints on here where customers are abused, called names, it is quite telling and maybe he needs to chill out, take a break and reflect on his customer service skills. Any response to this other than an genuine apology will just reinforce my point.
Another hidden gem on the back roads of the Mornington Peninsula. Went there not to hit a bucket of balls but for a catch up with an old friend. With a good variety of beers on tap, wood fired pizza's and a cosy, friendly ambience, what's not to like? The golf range looked good as well.
Guy and the team at Truemans really went above and beyond for our Corporate Christmas Party. 50 of us were welcomed with freshly squeezed orange juice, warm muffins and plenty of balls to hit. We had an absolute blast!
Had such a wonderful experience! Great vibes, hit some balls amazing pizza. The lady (Mary-Anne) behind the bar was so attentive and suggested the most amazing pizza. Highly recommend!
Driving range? Nope. Try again. This place should be called an ‘iron range’ or the ‘no fun range. ’
Am I a great golfer? Probably not.which is why I came to this place.to practice.but the manager who has a clear anger problem blasted me for a few stray shots and strictly told me to not even try another shot with a 3 wood again or else hahahaha
Pizza is good
The staff is amazing
The manager just needs to take some time off to relax
At the end of the day we just care about you mate
Hope you’re doing okay xx
Update: the proof is in the pudding boys, the owners response to this review says it all.
Well what can we say, the amazing pizza which consists of brought pita bread from Woolies and all the tip shelf ingredients I beg to differ, as for the range and facilities I couldn't be f been more annoyed at the owner who thinks he is God of golf! Change your attitude immediately and you might survive another winter, otherwise find something else to do away from the public, arrogant rude flog that if my kids weren't there with me it would of ended alot different.
Would have given 5 stars if the fella behind the counter wasn't so condescending. He told us to send the Ladies down to hold our spot, even though we had no females with us. He told us how we should teach our kids to hit a golf ball, I guess assuming we're idiots. He told us what we should and shouldn't put on a pizza, I said it's each to their own isn't it? He told us not to use drivers, I said no worries and then told us to take them out of our bag and leave them in the car, obviously not trusting us. Bit of a flog but had a good day there otherwise. Pizza nice but overpriced by about $10.
Don't bother using this golf range - was rudely treated by staff member and definetely wont be coming back. If you're a beginner golfer, better off going to another range that doesn't snatch golf clubs out of your hands because you picked out the wrong club from the rack. Don't expect to be welcomed here.
Pizzas were out that day so we we went to Milgri. Young lady behind the the bar very friendly and helpful. A hidden.
Not sure how a golf range have the best pizzas on the Mornington Peninsula, but they do! & hosts are such lovely people too……feel free to take owners recommendations on toppings, she knows what goes with what
