Trattoria Emilia reviews
72Great little cosy place, not too loud so you can have a conversation, great food and lovely service.
Food was good. Sat by the kitchen which was awkward, but the main problem was the service. The wait staff clearly forgot I was there and it was very difficult to get their attention. Not solo dining friendly. Should have spent my money at Tipo00 like everyone recommended.
Top Italian restaurant with a wine list to be proud of. Excellent food and wine pairings. Great knowledgeable personnel. A delight!
A very nice restaurant. I was happy to find this. Germans like fine Italian food, and I'm German.
Having just come back from Italy, I felt like I was eating in Bologna. The food was delicious and the restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Amazing authentic Italian food. Would certainly recommend for a taste of Italy in CBD Melbourne.
Lovely, charming restaurant with an authentic food and top notch service!
All the dishes we had were faultless.
Francesco chef/owner came up our table and let us tried a 25 years aged balsamic vinegar with our desert, absolutely to die for.
Food was average nothing special.
Server came across as rude and obnoxious and would not assist with menu suggestions- when asked questions about the menu responded with I’ll give you time to decide and walked away.
During our stay in Melbourne we went to Trattoria Emilia several times. Beautiful experience, very warm welcome and fantastic cuisine. It was nice to feel at home on the other side of the world.
Thanks guys we will be back soon!
Great place with a good atmosphere - separate vegan menu which is delicious (I had polenta mushroom ragu which was amazing). Highly recommend!
Find a good Italian restaurant is very hard in Australia! I never order a plate of pasta because I can cook it better the 90% of all chefs here in Australia, but, I taste a pasta here, amazing, something different, MasterChef is nothing to compare with this place! I give 10 stars to the chef in this restaurant! I’ll be back
My Italian friend took us to this place. It seems to be really authentic Italian as the wine was bit expensive but really good. For entree tried the Polpo, the octopus was a bit too chewy for my taste. For mains had the Spaghetti Battisti do Gragnano it was just too good. My friend swears by its Tagliatelle. Worth visiting
Wonderful traditional Italian restaurant in the cbd. I recommend you make a reservation even early as I sensed the fact I didn't have one wasn't appreciated. The food is delicious full of flavour. The complimentary fresh crusty bread and olive oil was wonderful. I recommend the tortelloni. The tiramisu was not the kind I'm used to but absolutely delicious. It's the wonderful warm, welcoming and charming wait staff who really make this restaurant shine. Try it you won't regret it.
Consensus of this group of 11-outstanding. Service was done so smoothly with great humor and friendliness. We started with antipasto and moved on to main dish. The salad was great as well and we had with antipasto which was a good choice as the mixed group meant it was a bit of a challenge to make everyone happy (mostly vegan, Keto, and gluten free).
Barramundi was awesome and the risotto also was a popular favorite in our group. I had plain pasta with red sauce and they brought me peppers to make it spicy which was awesome as they were in olive oil so I used them and then olive oil over the pasta and it was delicious.
The other mention is the duck -which, for my friend, was perfectly fine with great flavor and a rich sauce.
The bread to start was amazing with the olive oil that felt like freshly made. Best olive oil I had ever had. I recommend this charming spot very highly!
Beautiful food and staff. Atmosphere fantastic great location.
We we willl be back nxt time we visit Melbourne from Adelaide
After 17 years of life in Australia tonight I had my best Italian experience in this place. Thank you to the fantastic staff, Sofia (amazing girl), Matteo and Luca…. I was crying at the end because I finally found a place that let me felt as in Italy (my home). You can feel clearly their passion for what they are doing. Thank you to all of you guys.
Was recommended by various people when asked where to head for a special night to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were greeted by the friendly waitress as soon as we entered and shown to our table with no hesitation considering we showed up quite a bit earlier than our reserved time. The owner greeted us as we sat down and kept us entertained the whole evening. The staff was friendly and professional. Every dish brought out was explained to us. I really can’t tell you what dish was my favourite. We tried the chefs choice menu of 5 courses and not one meal disappointed. All the dishes were so full of flavour. Trust me, we were not disappointed and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. Please do yourself a favour and try this little gem, for a true Emiliana/Italian meal. Compliments to the Chefs for an outstanding meal and to the staff that looked after us. Hope to come visit again soon when I come back to Melbourne. Grazie Matteo
Lamb was great, and the squid spaghetti, and also the kingfish tartare. As a matter of fact, everything is great. Strongly recommend.
Aesthetically pleasing however sadly this is all it has going for it. A perfect example of a lazy Italian restaurant. Food was overpriced, underportioned and under whelming. Staff were unaccommodating. Italian food has so much to offer and yet, here, we get uninspired stereotypical food that was bland.
Lovely place with a great setup and ambiance. Very conveniently located too.
Their food is delicious, although the deconstructed Tiramisu isn't quite my thing.
The only nitpick I have with this place is the staff is a bit arrogant. At least to me that night.
