So happy I finally got to dine here!

We celebrated my sister’s birthday here and the place really lives up to its reputation.
With beautifully designed interior, it has a very cosy vibe to it.

Three of us got some cocktails and shared a whole bunch of items from the menu.
The food was just divine, I absolutely love a restaurant like this one with it’s creative take on vegetarian while keeping it delicious.

The team that served us was also lovely.
Will look forward to coming back here soon

My husband and I recently attended Transformer on a Friday night for dinner. What a pleasure! The staff were amazing and friendly. The food was amazing. The service was prompt, which is a big tick for us. Prices very reasonable. Highly recommend the bread (likely the best I’ve eaten), beetroot salad and the potatoes were to die for!

Came here for Father’s Day and it was fantastic! Had the pleasure of being served by Surya who was incredibly accommodating and the food was delicious on the feed me menu. 10/10

Had a fantastic family dinner to celebrate our special milestone. Food was fantastic, novel, well presented. Decor and ambience was wonderful. Only spoiler was an extremely rude staff member who attended to our table. Making sarcastic snide comments all through the dinner. So nasty that we had Never faced anything like this in Melbourne! Anyway Other staff were fantastic and made up somewhat.
Overall will recommend but do pray that you dont get the one bad apple!

The food is delicious and well presented. Just don’t have an event with cakes here - their customer service left a sour note at the end of our night. My sister surprised me with a beautiful homemade birthday cake but we were told we couldn’t enjoy it onsite.

It was so disappointing that the staff couldn't be flexible - we would have happily paid a fee to cut and serve the cake, even after spending $1500 in food and drinks! Instead we had to scramble to get plates and napkins and ended up eating it outside like stranded cats.

Transformer less than meets the eye. What a very bad experience for my partners birthday. The entrees were nice and then came the main. The sauce was so bitter and terrible no one could eat it. The waiter then tried it and agreed it was no good. He took a plate back to the kitchen and their response was we were wrong. So we were left with four plates of the main that no one ate. To rectify this they gave us two brownies between 8 people. $700 for meals we couldn't eat and two free brownies and no apology. All the waiter could say was he agreed and that there was no head chef working that night. We have come to this restaurant many times and the food has gone downhill. Out of all the restaurants in Melbourne we chose here and I regret this decision because it ruined my partners birthday dinner. We all drove down from the country for this special occasion only to have it ruined by kitchen staff who thought this food was acceptable even though no one ate it. We have never returned food before so the fact we did just showed how terrible it was. No money off the bill, no complimentary bottle of wine, no apology and then they asked for a tip.

Being a vegan I thought Transformer would be great but I was wrong. I ordered the Black Pearl mushrooms, Lions Mane pakoras and “truffled chickpea panisse”. Everything was bland, lacking any sort of tasteful substance, nil wow-factor, or any sort of flavour. Everything was below average. The pakoras and panisse were deep fried and oil-soaked. This place is sadly overrated for a vegan/vegetarian restaurant.

Came here for a work dinner and we all had slightly different dietary requirements, which was not an issue for this place. The portion sizes were much bigger than I remembered and we all loved it. Great staff and also the lighting is spot on!

Gorgeous cocktails. Amazing food and lovely staff. We had a terrific night at Transformer. Would highly recommend.

I have mixed feelings about my recent dining experience. On one hand, the food was good and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, during our meal, we spotted a cockroach running across the floor. When we brought this to the attention of the staff at the end of our meal, they simply blamed it on the restaurant's location next to a dumpster and said it was a common problem for restaurants in Fitzroy. As a customer, I didn't expect to encounter pests while dining out, especially in a fine relaxed dining establishment. The incident was disappointing and makes you wonder if the kitchen too infested with cockroaches. I hope that the staff takes steps to address this issue and ensures a clean and hygienic dining environment for their customers.

Did the feed me and we were fed very well! Excellent service and high end vegan food! Very classy, 10/10 recommend

Wow. Just wow - gorgeous space and beautiful and delicious food. I’m an omnivore but the feed me menu was very generous and has amazing dishes…couldn’t pick a favourite! Definitely come hungry as it’s a lot! Absolutely love the cocktails too - great service as well. My only regret is not being able to make room for dessert. Highly recommend for a date

Really great experience here for two vegetarians keen to try some more fine-dining style food. The service was amazing and the interior decor stunning. The food was 8/10, some creative ideas and interesting flavours. Lovely cocktails too!

Bland food and flavour combinations that didn't quite work. The cabbage main was tasty. Not nearly up to standard for the prices they're charging.

A bit disappointing. Food was pretty good but some dishes were not up to standard and the whole welcoming and payment process was very uncool. In the end, so overpriced. It felt like the place had lost its edge. Sorry, won't be back in a hurry.
