Thirty Eight Chairs

Was my first time dining here, and had a lovely celebratory dinner. We ordered a a variety of the pasta dishes and entree’s and they were absolutely to die for. The pasta alone was incredible, and their gluten free option was also really great (which isn’t common). We had a beautiful waitress Martina who was such a delight and just helped to make the experience a whole lot more enjoyable. Will be bringing everyone I know here!

A compact, lively, and enjoyable dining experience. They have a wide range of drinks options and serve high quality, delicious food. Staff are very attentive.

Yet again, another wonderful night at 38 Chairs! Service was exemplary with a vibrant atmosphere. The spaghetti with prawns and crab meat was a sensational! Thank you for the birthday sing along and cranking up the music to end the night on a high note pre snap lockdown! ️️️

New discovery for me but apparently a Chapel St favourite: a happy crowd of birthday party’s, locals and pre-clubbers.
The cuisine was housemade, fresh, and ample. And tasty. The wine list carries some quality drops.
The service was also a strong point: friendly, unharried, accurate and invested in their tables.

Amazing experience with the best service and pasta I have had in years! Everything was amazing from the sour dough &truffle butter, then the pasta was amazing and desert!

Opening night after lockdown and the place was jumping! Had such a beautiful night celebrating our son's birthday. Food was so delicious and I'd go back just for an entree, main and desert of the Arancini balls - OMG melt in your mouth deliciousness! Music was a bit loud but that's just me showing my age LOL. Will be back for sure.

Where do I start? The whole team were super friendly from the moment we walked in. Extremely accomodating with dietary requirements. On point recommendations on what to order. I highly recommend the burrata and the gnocchi (pasta is made fresh). The group next to us all had steak and we could hear them all saying how delicious and perfectly cooked it was. I will be back for the steak! I’ve eaten here before and each time the experience gets better. Thank-you

We celebrated 2 birthdays on friday night. Gino kindly welcomed us with a lovely prosecco and manager Daniele accommodated our latest table request in a more private section. I was a bit nervous since my friends had never been there before and they always do fine dining.
One of the ladies hadn't touch Duck ragu' for years, since her last experience was traumatizing. After the tasty entrees (zucchine flowers to die for!) We had the duck ragu' pasta shared between us. Our friend litterally devoured that pasta and she was impressed by the goodness and delicacy of the ragu' as well as for the rest of the food.
My friends were very happy with the warm yet professional service we were given the whole time.
Special comments were also made in regards to the extensive wine list, juicy steak, tender cotoletta and the mind blowing dessert!
Not to mention how the staff on the floor made us feel special and spoiled.

This place is so nice! The food is amazing, and so fresh! Great service, very professional. I love this place, I need to come back here again! I recommend this place for everyone!

Awesome way to head into lockdown on Friday night. Fabulous meal, fun and attentive staff and a night that finished with dancing in the restaurant. What a great way to celebrate my birthday with friends. I'll be booking the late sitting again as these guys know how to have a good time!

Although the food was good but the service was slow. We waited 1 hour for our main meals. The restaurant offered a discount but would have expected more given the wait time.

Exceptional food. Took us back to Bologna and Tuscany. Service was top notch, really broad selection of wine too. Great for an anniversary or special occasion for you and your partner.

Our meals were amazing and service was super quick! Only issue was the wait staff were lovely but not very attentive. We had to keep asking them over to tell them we were ready as they didn’t attempt to come by and ask.

Still a lovely experience though!

I celebrated my 30th bday at 38chairs and has been amazing. The food is always the best part, but the service and the atmosphere were not less than that. Gino and the tema made me feel like at home! Highly recommend ️

5 star dining experience as always. A must if you are looking for amazing Italian food in Melbourne.

Went here to celebrate a birthday. Great pasta and desserts. If you need to spice it up don't forget to ask for their authentic chili oil!
