35Quirky little theatre. Saw Barbie there. Loads of fun. Great licenced bar, fabulous pizzas. Awesome venue.
Been meaning to chill out here for years and now finally doing so with a delicious red wine before heading off to Mt Franklin to set up camp. I’m doing my Daylesford Station Market stall tomorrow selling my Cejuvenate Orange Peel Powder (an anti-inflammatory)
Love the décor & atmosphere! Staff are really friendly & smiles abound, it’s so important in Hospitality! Will be back for pizza as they look good (next table is enjoying one).
Wonderful theatre for cinema and music and sporting events, tasty food and lovely wine and beer
Friendliest workers you’ll ever see around.
Got served by this very handsome caramel curly haired jacked young man.
Looking forward to going back there to see him.
Spent time there during the jazz, festival. Great venue, with a great mixture of old and new.
Saw Mudhoney here last week. Beautiful old style venue, love the atmosphere and space. Great beer garden and service too.
A little disappointed that my 10" pizza cost $26 and took more than an hour to be made. Because of this I missed the first 15 minutes of "The Necks". I also note that the cleanskin house Shiraz is now $50, up from $35 last year.
This used to be a brilliant little place. These days, one goes there, sits down, then realises that no one will come to one's table to take the order, goes inside to wait in line to order drinks because there's only one till but 3 people behind the bar (one is taking orders and the other two are just standing there), finally orders drinks at the bar, then waits some more at the bar to take one's drinks to one's table. The service is similar to the people's army canteen in one of the former Soviet republics. Sheer brilliance. Oh yes, cocktails are only $18. I'll be sure to come again.
The choc top was special too. Difficult in the dark and when the lights came up I had it all over my shirt!
Multifunctional heritage venue - bar with outside area for patrons, live shows, theatre & movies. Interesting history that warrants a drop in to look see in daytime. The infamous Lola Montez performed here & that's quite an entertaining story.
Such an.icon - delicious pizza, beautiful round-the-back garden for drinks, food and afternoon tunes. Great curated film offerings, with comfy couch seating downstairs recommended. Love the range of gigs. Good people watching out front while you imbibe and eat during daytime, and earlier on Friday and Saturday nights. Absolutely pumping and core to the Castlemaine state festival.
Incredible music venue, delicious pizzas, wonderful staff, just a total gem of a place whether you're enjoying an intimate dining experience inside, kicking back in the garden bar or watching a show in the historic theatre.
The beating heart of Castlemaine.
I drove a long way to see The Legend of Queen Kong. It was legendary. Nice pizzas at the bar too.
Only had a couple of drinks here but I loved this place. Friendly service and well kept beer. Was nice to have the Love Shack IPA on tap. My only grievance is that they aren’t open more often.
Great spot to catch a live show or see a movie. And love that you can bring in your drinks and dinner. Love the couches and just relaxing.
An old venue with uncomfortable seating. We attended on a warm day and there was no air conditioning. The concert was A1 (John Waters - John Lennon Songbook) but the venue needs renovating.
Great space, a mecca of music, film and fabulous pizza, the ideal destination for artists, lovers and irredeemable hedonists.
The beating heart of Castlemaine. Live music, movies, pizza, wine, gorgeous staff and all contained in a beautiful historic building.
Great place to relax on the outside dining area for a sneaky negroni and a delicious wood fired pizza.
Australia's oldest continuously licensed picture theatre. It also has a brewery and a bar at the rear and a coffee shop with alcoholic drinks that can be consumed inside or elfresco. You can become a Loyal Royal member and receive discounts and early notification of upcoming events such as Music concerts and special screenings. Comfortable historic building with fantastic staff and includes facilities for the disabled. A ROYAL GEM.
