The Watch Lab:Watch Repairs Melbourne CBD reviews
45 My experience was positive.
I had my Luminox watch repaired.
The repairman diagnosed the problem in front of me, and was clear and transparent with how the repair was going to be done.
The repair timeframe given was realistic and accurate, and it was affordable.
My expectations were met.
Want your watch fixed? This is a good place. Recommend.
Had a wrist band repaired on my Omega watch and a replacement band fitted on my Casio watch. Excellent value and friendly service. Highly recommend this place and have no hesitation for any future visits.
Restored my omega watch to working order. Fast and polite to deal with. Very happy. Highly recommended.
Had a bracelet repolished and the bracelet fitted back to my Rolex, this muppet scratched each lug! I'm totally devastated at the lack of care and attention, DO NOT GO HERE, will see if I can be re-embursed some way from this cobbler.
Update: They have agreed to cover the damages through another watch maker which is a positive, will update review once it is all sorted.
Update: True to their word, watch damage has been repaired by third party and Watch Lab covered all costs which is a positive.
I popped in the other day for some advice on a vintage Zodiac band and they adjusted it for me for free. Can't do much better than that - thanks Guys!
Disappointing. I paid $380 at the start of the year to service my grandad’s watch. Recently the watch dial came loose. They wanted to charge me $120 to fix it + 4 week wait. Not covered by warranty. Go somewhere else.
Left a vintage watch for some minor cosmetic repairs - work done was satisfactory but the case, movement and hands were poorly treated and damaged as a result. Luckily the manufacturer of the watch had a local technician who could fix this damage. The Watch Lab would be fine for changing a battery or a strap, but I highly recommend avoiding them for more significant work or engaging with an expensive/treasured timepiece.
I've come here on two occasions- once to replace a battery and another to replace a strap. The turn around time is always quick and the price is always reasonable. Happy to of found this gem and wouldn't go anywhere else. Thanks so much guys!
Went to replace the battery for my GShock. The technician mentioned that he can replace the batteries without issue …. Later when I went to collect the GShock, it is working but the technician mentioned that he does not know how to reset the time etc as GShock has different models with different settings which was a huge surprise - watch technician doesn't know how to reset the time!
Now the question is ‘What confidence do I have on this shop which specialised on watch repair, and they haven’t messed up with other settings of my GShock’. Just worried…. Only time will tell.
Other than above, great staff, friendly and quick service.
Excellent advice and very fair pricing. My Seiko was running fast. Fixed in 10 minutes and now running at +/- 2 secs per day. I'll definitely recommend to others.
I needed a repair to my watch and went to a different repairers. I was quoted $400 and decided to buy another watch. 12 months later I had not found a new watch I liked so I came here for a quote. I was quoted and charged $180. That was 6 weeks ago. The watch is working perfectly. Great value. I strongly recommend.
I dropped in my husband’s tissot watch for replacement of the dial. The watch was a few months old and had no other problems. Paid $140 for replacement but once my husband starting wearing it near water, eg washing his hands, the face would fog up. I took it back to be fixed free of charge. When I picked it up I was told it was tested to be water resistant. The problem remained, the dial stopped working all together and we found it had rusted on the inside.
I then took the watch to the swatch group repairs shop where they do official repairs for tissot and had to pay $270 for a full repair as they reported that the case back had not been fitted properly by the watch group which led to the issues with the dial and the water damage.
I’ll never go here again. Save your money!
Unbelievable! Very friendly staff! My watch bar was broken, and the guy replaces a new one for free!
I visited The Watch Lab since I've read positive reviews, I simply asked for a quote for repairing my old Jean Richard timepiece. The gentleman behind the counter greeted me insolently.
I showed him my watch and explained the issues which comprised of a cracked acrylic crystal, loose crown and a misaligned minute hand. I mentioned it was an automatic movement, he replied in a hostile manner, "Movement. What do you mean by movement? " Then he contentiously pointed out the issues which I had already mentioned and he was frustrated saying I did not point out the issues. Which I did at the beginning.
He then quoted me $60 to replace the crystal and $25 to fix the minute hand; I was very reluctant at this point, I'm sure they are capable but I was very despondent from the "customer service".
Quality Service, Quick Turn Around, Good Price
I took my 2 TW Steel's for repair, x1 Battery replacement, x1 Cosmetic fix a baton had come loose and was moving though the face. Requested the battery replacement for a 1 day turnaround Wednesday midday drop off, Thursday COB collection, The other whenever, was told no need both could be done within an hour, both were completed and updated to current time and date. I was quoted over double what I paid here just to have the cosmetic repair looked at. Thanks Guys
Did a great job on my old Seiko chronograph - Prompt communication and prompt repair - Very satisfied!
Managed to get my grand mother's old watch working when others couldn't. Appreciate the persistence, thanks guys!
Repaired my Fathers Roamer (crown and stem) ordered parts for the job and was in constant communication. Very professional and did an excellent job
Wanted to charge $15 to change a watch strap and service was not friendly. At least the job was done without any issues.
Edit: I don't rate this highly because the service was not friendly AND they wanted to charge $15 to change a watch strap, which is a 2-minute job.
Reasonably priced and good service. I only asked for a simple job but it was done overnight and ready the next day. Its located inside the office building and you take the lift up.
