It’s a great hotel. Really good upgrade, foods great and the staff are really nice. Hope they bring back those lemon and herb chips tho.

Wonderful. The kids room is inspired. Wonderful relaxing way to have a meal with the family.

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. Poor food. Poor venue layout and terribly.over priced
The attitude of management and staff was poor and i was uncomfortable the moment I walked in.
Can't see myself.returning. The girl behind the bar showed me some empathy as she she could see our experience was not a good one.
Apologies but that's how I saw it

Went on a quiet Sunday night, first time being there. Parma was good! Place is very nice, but my mum ordered a steak medium well, sent it back for being undercooked and it came back basically the same way 20 minutes later after everyone else had finished their food. Staff were uninterested, didn’t check how our food was, the lady delivering the drinks spilt one on the table and didn’t bother to clean it up. Chips were excellent! But a bit of a poor experience overall unfortunately: (would love to leave a better review next time!

Very family friendly with a play area section and not far from yarraville gardens too. Food is reasonable!

First time being at VH and positively impressed. The Bistro looks very nice and has a great atmosphere. Service was great and thoughtful.
Food was really good, slider patty was seasoned nicely and juicy. Tuesday is 20$ Steak night, steak was cooked perfectly and the red wine jus was really great.
Overall highly recommendable!

Food was average. The parma wasn't heated evenly and had a strange texture but was a very generous size. The kids steak was full of gristle which wasn't surprising as it seems it was just strips that would have been offcuts. Staff were friendly.

Thoroughly enjoyed a day out at this pub on Mother’s Day. Pleasant dining room, comfortable booths, & friendly staff. Gluten free alternate available. One item was unavailable after we made our group order, but a suitable alternative was arranged. Tasty Parma & generous plate portions. Kids enjoyed the play area next door. Will be back.

Been here twice to watch the UFC. Fair beer selection. Clean and tidy gastropub with a small sportsbar and drive through bottle-o. Decent food provision friendly staff. I'm sure my rating will increase with repeated visits

The steak, salad and chips were surprisingly good! Great quality beef and great price for a Tuesday dinner! Staff were all friendly and accommodating.

This is a honest review. 1.5 stars. Let me explain breakdown below.
Ordered few dishes tonight.
1. Cauliflower croquets - crispy yes, but that’s where it stops. Lacked flavour & seasoning. The orange sauce lacked the same. Big 0
2. Prawn/lobster Roll - Flavour yes. Portion size was a joke for sure. Not even $5 worth of protein mix in total. Taking a Mickey while charging $19.00
3. Stone baked garlic bread - or should I say pitta beard with humus and parsley chutney. Garlic was clearly missing in action and what’s with tons of bread and rain drop worth humus - really?
4. The Most DISAPPOINTING DISH OF THE NIGHT - Cauliflower salad. How do you (Victoria Hotel) think charging $25.00 for a salad which is basically bag of spinach, just about cooked cauliflower and few pomegranate kernels is right? And where on earth was DRESSING? Salad without dressing? Would
Love my refund on this for sure.
5. Service - Basically no one is interested to smile or provide any info/recommendations or even check on how the dinner is? And please don’t use Covid as a excuse for your sloppy service.
Now the positives on why I have 1.5 stars.
1. Chicken tenders - on the point with flavour and seasoning (seems like on chicken dish chef showed up to work!)
2. Clean place with kids play/parents dinner area which is really good feature.

In summary, you got to really pull your weight with taste and flavour or reduce your pricing dramatically to match current taste and state.

Your extremely disappointed and considering never to return new customer!

Went pre-covid (Feb 2019) and back again last weekend.
Changes made to the childrens area include the removal of the inclosed ball-pit and installation of 3xplaystations. The soft play area is suitable for the toddlers.
Food was good, childrens menu good (nice to have veggies as an option)
Overall a decent place for a childfriendly location.

Food was average, nothing special. Way too much seasoning on the chips and way too much dressing on the salad! The kids loved the play room though. If the food improved we would be regulars but unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be back.

Visited recently after the renovations and love how it looks inside - very clean and modern. There are some really interesting old maps of the area as well!
Spectacular service attributed to Zoe, who was extremely patient with my numerous questions on coeliac friendly gluten free menu options - thank you!
Very impressed with the kitchen which dished up gluten free calamari - forgot to take a photo: (and delicious Fish of The Day. Quality food.
I will definitely be going back for a feed, and hope to be served by Zoe again - thank you!
PS. A beer garden would be a great addition in the future.
(The QR code method of ordering is much more convenient than touching a menu handled by others and many other establishments are adopting this method)

I attended my grandma’s birthday for dinner at the Vic Hotel and was so impressed. The renovations are fantastic, staff were super friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. Just what the area needed. I’ll definitely be back.

This was the best spot I have eaten at for a very long time. The meals are lovely, the chairs are very comfy, staff members are very kind and aren’t shy. This is great.

Really good to see 'The Vic' reopen after closing during COVID. We returned there recently for dinner but it was a very underwhelming experience. I don't think the new owners really understand the clientele here in Yarraville with everything needing to be done on your phone App, or pay a surcharge at the bar on CCs. On the upside the staff were pleasant, not that we had all that much interaction with them.

It follows that short of a revamp we (sadly) won't be returning anytime soon.
