Poor service. Only allow us to place order once. We want to order more and we were told we can't. It is ok if we were told when we place the order. We didn't expect the quantity is so small.

The lu rou fan 卤肉饭 is to die for! I felt like I was transported back to Taiwan’s night markets Sooo good! The pork just melts in your mouth. The spring onion pancake was ok, we felt it wasn’t spring onion-y enough. We chose the spicy fried chicken. Was a little disappointed that it’s fried chicken with chilli powder sprinkled on it. We thought it would be part of the batter, like KFC wicked wings.

Taiwanese streetfood favs

Remarkable hole in the wall kitchen that manages to churn out an amazing array of authentic Taiwanese streetfood fare - fried pork buns, rice rolls, fried cruellers, pork cutlet rice, beef noodles, soya bean milk (even the rare savoury version).

Family-run with the chef (dad) touting numerous national cooking awards. Their food is cooked to order and consistently hits the spot. They also have a wde variety of pastries native to their homeland available over the counter.

These are earnest folks flying their heritage high and proud. Huge props to these culinary champs!

Chairs a bit uncomfortable but food made up for it. Recommend the crispy chicken with rice and soy bean drink

Unfortunately the entire space fits ~8 people in total

However this is the most authentic and delicious Taiwanese joint I’ve ever ate at in Melbourne!

Home Cook food. It is a small place to eat but I like their home cook. Friendly staff and tasty food. Would love to try different food, especially Taiwanese breakfast!

Reasonable price, taste like Taiwan.if you come before 9am, lots parking available, but after that you may need to spend some time to find a spot to park.

The restaurant is so small and cramped. They do not offer any tea nor water with the food. The food I ordered was supposed to be some minced pork with rice, but I got some chopped fat oily pork with rice, chinese vegies and half boiled egg. Really horrible! I will never come back!

Had the egg pan fried roll in Chinese donut and the spring onions pancake. The egg Chinese donut was ok, a bit on the oily side. The spring onion pancake however was disappointing; key words in the dish is spring onions. There was hardly any there, and it felt like I was just eating flat dough. Also the shop is too small so if you come during peak hours, there might be a wait.

Authentic and cheap Taiwanese food, fix my homesick! Would be nice if they’ve got more seats though

With only 5 tables inside and everyone in the know flocking to this place, you must either come during non-peak or just be prepared to wait. Service is polite and efficient, and for the sake of those waiting, eat up and free up a table.

The pastry sandwich with egg and Chinese doughnut was perfection. Crispy and airy Chinese doughnut and egg sandwiched between a crusty and soft pastry sandwich - simple but delicious! Pro tip - pair it with the spicy broad bean paste for a flavour boost.

I loved the deep and bold flavours of the Taiwanese Baso rice aka lu rou fan. The braised pork was tender and juicy, and the slight sweetness of the pork was balanced out by the sour and piquant preserved veggies. Topped off with half a hard-boiled egg and this was comfort food at its finest.

Of course, I had to order a bowl of savoury soy milk. I love sweet but when it comes to soy milk, I'm all for the savoury version. It can be an acquired taste and it can look unappetizing but don't let these fool you. Pro tip 2 - add a splash of chilli oil and red vinegar to bring out the best of the savoury flavour, and always paired it with fresh crunchy Chinese doughnut!

The soy milk here, both sweet and savoury, weren't the best, but were well above average. A pity as otherwise this meal would have been perfect!

For the price you pay, not worth the stomach space. Food is so so. Go next door and you'll be full of happiness. Disappointing xiaolong bao. $9.50 for a fries kebab wrap with thinly sliced beef and 75% lettuce. Should have gotten a real kebab down the road. Service is great. Space is small and cramp. I'm not a big dude, only 5'10 and struggled to arrange myself and leg space. Won't be back again. Too many cheaper and tasty eateries around the area to fill me up.

This morning, we waited 15 minutes at the door for a table and when there was a free table, the female staff allowed a group behind us to jump queue who apparently arrived after us (that was because they put in their order while they were waiting), she even blamed us for pushing in, we just left the place with such dismay. Absolutely appalling!

Authentic Taiwanese breakfast like soya bean and egg pancake with Chinese donut. The mains like minced pork and pork trotters are pretty good. Staff are Taiwanese too. Good experience.

Very small shop but has nice decor and very cosy. Probably sits about 15 people max inside and there usually is a line during peak times.
Food is great here for the most part.
Would definitely recommend their soy bean and doughnut sticks as a breakfast/brunch type of food.
Their Taiwanese rice with pork is one of my favourites here too. The fried chicken breast on rice also makes my favourites list - almost like Hot Star chicken on rice!
However, the sausage on rice is pretty standard, wasn't that impressive so wouldn't be getting that again.
There is a variety of nice food options here so be sure to try other things too.
