The sunny Cafe reviews
37Really disappointed about everything, noodle was terrible, ate 1/4 and discarded the rest. Food was expensive. A doughnut and a pack cake combo is too overpriced. No customer service either. Will never come back.
The price is very cheap, and it has a very hometown flavor. The location in the store is limited, and you can eat all the authentic Taiwanese food here
Bad service, we wait half an hour for our food. Even there are no other customers.
Food is pretty bad because the owner changed.
Never come back again.
Reply to the owner’s comment: now I know why the food was so terrible, because the owner and the chef are blinds ^•^
The restaurant that can transport it customers to Taiwan!
Authentic Taiwanese breakfast and lunch meals; highly recommend to people who have tried Taiwanese meals before and wanna have them without travelling to Taiwan or would like to try them!
The best thing I ate this weekend (and many weekends before this) is the homemade soy milk and Taiwanese fried chicken fillet bento set at the Sunny Cafe, Springvale.
There is a very small seating space so inevitably there’s a queue every single time we visit. Most people give up and takeaway. I see many loyal patrons ordering soy milk, Chinese doughnut and the luroufan (braised pork belly on rice). It’s also cash only which can be annoying if you don’t bring much cash.
If you are up for delicious and are not fussed on the ambience and waiting time, go for this! You will be transported back to Taipei
The egg rolls were a bit too moist causing the chinese donuts to lose its crispiness. As for the braised pork rice, the diced pork had really great texture but lacks a bit of flavour. The best dish so far was the soup. They only accept cash so be mindful of that.
Food is fantastic, one of my favourite for breakfast, but the place is too small, 80% of the time we have to go elsewhere because there is no seat.
A small gem in Springvale with the best food choices there is. It tasted amazing like it was made with love.
It’s already 2022, still cash only!?
Maybe they don’t want to pay tax.
The real Taiwanese food is not taste like this.
Great food with a smile. Always tasty and fresh food with great service. The fresh soy milk is awesome!
Pleasantly surprised! Was looking for a breakfast place in Springvale and I found this. This little Taiwanese cafe serves street style snacks and meals like soy milk, rice balls, Taiwanese style fried chicken and beef noodles. Good thing we arrived earlier before it got really busy.
Great food. Been coming back for the last twelve months. There's always a queue for the wonderful food here.
I like the egg roll with Chinese donut and the crispy chicken rice
The egg pancake wrapped around the you- tiao donut, dipped in their mildly sweet hot soy milk has to be one of the best things I've eaten for breakfast. I'm craving it as I'm writing this.
Their fried pork bento is crispy but no seasoning except a peppery kick? I was craving salt for it. But hey, still somewhat good and cheap to till 2 stomachs.
Pork gua bao was ok. Pork was dry.
There's limited seating (4/5 tables). Many people just get takeaway anyway so I don't think waiting will be an issue. There's never a big line.
Omg
I feel like I’m either in Singapore or Hong Kong
The food here is so authentic and sooooooo tasty I think I’m in love
Started off with hot soya milk n dipped my Chinese fried donut in it … yummy
Followed by a beef roti wrap
The freshness the sauces … omg
Stunning.outstanding
Food Heaven
I’m guna come back n back n back
I saw the fried chicken n the pig trotters.omg … mm mm
Their braised pork rice is AWESOME! Limited table so have to go early.awesome Taiwanese street food, and also highly recommended their homemade soy milk
Love the pork chop Bento - the dish comes with pickle veggies and a minced meat sauce. Pork chop is well seasoned
Best youtiao in Melbourne! Having it dipped in soy milk is probably one of the best Sunday brekkies ever
Second time trying Taiwanese Cuisine and it was great
The Ru Rou Fan (Braised Pork Rice with pickled vege & egg) was simply delicious.
The Pork Chop was crispy & full of taste.
My least favourite was the Rou Gen Fan (Rice topped with egg and pork sauce) was a bit confusing for me at least.
I have to single this out as the best!
Try the homemade Soy Milk!
We had the hot Soy Milk & it was just amazing.
Unfortunately we didn't get to pair it with the Yu Char Kueh (Chinese Fried Donut).
If not it would have been a match made in heaven.
Will surely be back!
Amazing delicious and cheap Taiwanese food. I've been craving for some good Taiwanese food ever since I went to Taiwan years ago and I haven't been successful until I stumbled upon this little joint. Huge portions, delicious and comforting. The only thing I wish was that the cafe was bigger so it's quite limited in spots. Don't be surprised if you see a queue outside!
Superb pig trotters for those fans out there. Chicken chop also amazing. The place is a bit small, so make sure you come early. Everything is quite big a serving, but quite stingy on chili.anyway, good lunch to have.
