I just have finished my first level at this school. I don’t find it’s beneficial to be honest. Quite often it was frustrating how we started learning something new until we finilised the previously topic. You always keep moving forward without repeating/ refreshing the previous class. It’s not enough homework to make you effectively working and improving. I do believe the books designed for a different lessons frequency. The approach is way different from what I experienced when studying English. Anyway, it’s my 5 cents. On a positive note Mia was great and lesson were fun.

My classes were taught by Mia and she is indeed an amazing teacher who wants to make sure every question is answered and everyone keeps up with the progress. She's also got a great personality and attitude. On another hand, I believe the learning approach of the course could be improved. Every week's topic seemed to have little connection to the previous week with little to no repetition of the material. From my understanding, knowing less but confidently is better than a little bit of everything. Hence I think there should be more focus on revising the material. Also, adding a fixed vocabulary list that is revised every week would be beneficial. I would also suggest to have more homework and good practices to check it. Overall, though, I completely agree that one 1,5 hrs group class per week is not enough to cover everything. While learning a new language it is important to work a lot in the spare time. Mia, thanks for all the efforts and assistance.

The classes in St Kilda with Mia are wonderful! Small groups, personal attention, and Mia can't do enough to help her students. Her passion and enthusiasm are infectious, and she's great fun to be around! (It's also a much better location for south-siders!)

Just completed level 1A and beginning level 1B. Mia is an excellent teacher and makes each class extremely entertaining! I almost gave up attempting to learn Spanish until I found the Spanish Cat. I officially have a new found love for it!

So far I have completed levels 1A and 1B at The Spanish Cat in St Kilda with Mia as my teacher. I have thoroughly enjoyed these classes and learnt a lot. It is my first time learning Spanish so at first I was nervous but it is definitely doable for a beginner. You learn a wide variety of things and Mia also makes the classes fun, not taking it too seriously but giving us a little bit of homework each week to help us continue to practice.
I have also made some great new friends from my classes. I am starting level 2 this week and plan to continue on to improve my Spanish:)
I believe it is good value for money, with the school offering a discount multiple times of the year for each level.
I would highly recommend this class/school to anyone wanting to learn and also have some fun!

Really enjoyable classes that are fun, informative and lead at a good pace! Mia is a great teacher and is excellent at explaining the concepts to us. She is amazing at catering for the different styles of learning and incorporating all components of language learning into her classes. The St Kilda room is super easily accessible too! Cannot rave about these classes enough!

Initially, it was scary to learn a new language, but as i went through 1A and 1B classes with Mia and others, it became fun and exciting. Would recommend it to anyone who is keen to learn and try new experience and meet new friends! The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. Prices are affordable and class time flys as you learn so much.

For a person who didn't know much Spanish other than 3 words, i found it really easy to learn the topics and develop my skills throughout the course of 1A with Mia at StKilda.

She is very easy going and really likes to help. When i had trouble with certain concepts she went out of her way and emailed me further examples which really helped.

Highly highly recommend Mia and Spanish Cat StKilda.

I have studied here from level 1A right up to level 7 and loved every minute of it. The teachers are patient, understanding and approach teaching with an evident passion for the language and their culture. My Spanish has improved drastically because they make you want to learn. It's never felt like a chore. Can't speak highly enough of this place! Thanks guys:)
