I was an absolute beginner at the start of the year and have completed the 1A and 1B Spanish classes with the lovely Mia. The first course was in person at St Kilda and second was virtual on Zoom. Mia is a real gem - she always makes the classes fun and interesting and is so supportive and a great teacher. I can’t speak highly enough of Mia - thank you!

Whilst the initially a little challenging I'm loving the course. Smaller intimate classes, Mia is an amazing teacher. Gracias Profesora!

After spending a month in Spain and two months in Chile I kicked myself for not taking friends advice and learning Spanish. Better late than never, I decided to take it up when I came back.

I've completed 2.5 modules with Mia, starting at the very beginning in January. Initially these classes were held face to face and now across Zoom. Always energetic and fun to be around on a Monday evening, Mia makes the classes really enjoyable. She's very encouraging that we make the most of our class to practice as much as possible despite terrible accents and pronunciations. Mia is from Chile but has lived in Spain as well so can help with either Spanish or Latin American Spanish.

If you're thinking about doing it, give it a try you'll really enjoy it. My only advice is to supplement the 90 minute class with podcasts, movies, tv shows, short stories etc to keep the info front and centre. I'm currently reading Eres mi mama? And Me gusta cuando to my ten month old to help me.

A brilliant and fun way to learn espanol! Mia is a fantastic teacher and from the beginner class level really sets the foundations of the Spanish language while also teaching you basic conversation. Will definitely continue to learn with the Spanish Cat, St Kilda!

The Spanish Cat is a fantastic place if you want to learn Spanish. The classes are so relaxed and lots of fun. Mia is a brilliant teacher, she is patient, kind and so much fun. We would laugh our way through every class. Highly recommend

If you’re considering learning Spanish I highly recommend Mia’s classes in St Kilda. After a 5 year hiatus I returned to the Spanish Cat and was lucky to have Mia as our class teacher. She is patient, attentive, holistic and mindful of each student strengths and weaknesses.
Mia’s classes are fun and interactive she is simply the best educator.

Learnig Spanish with Mia & Nestor at both St Kilda and Melbourne campuses has been fantastic. I have managed to improve my Spanish in leaps and bounds with these teachers. They both have great ability to help make you understand the important concepts and practice. They have both encouraged us to learn about the culture and not just rely on classwork but attend events way from the campus. Mia has been especially good with her willingness to share a drink and tapas. Si tuveira tiempo iría a clases todos los días con ella.

If you are considering learning Spanish then do what you can to book in with Mia at the St Kilda classes.
She is very informative and thorough - while also making the classes fun. This obviously makes a huge difference. Mia is obviously very passionate about what she does.
I have recently completed Level 1A and 1B - I am about to start Level 2 and genuinely looking forward to it.

Mia Aqueveque is an awesome Spanish teacher, her classes are engaging, well structured and enjoyable. I really liked her teaching style

Just completed course 1A with Mia. It was great. The resources were good and Mia kept it very entertaining. Looking forwards to the second course. Note to self. More revision next time.

If you want to learn Spanish - please go and see Mia at The Spanish Cat in their St Kilda lessons. Mia is everything you could want in a teacher, she's kind, fun, helpful, and very patient. When wanting to begin Spanish lessons, I was highly recommended to study with Mia, and I was not disappointed! I saw how Mia worked with students in our class from all kinds of backgrounds and learning capacities/levels. Mia was incredibly patient with students who were struggling, and also gave more opportunities to students who were fast learners. Everyone in my class, really enjoyed and valued Mia as a teacher.
