We can’t thank Sanu enough for being an incredible dance teacher! He helped choreograph, teach and perfect our wedding dance and our incredible lift. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the dance was and everyone has said our dance was the “WOW” factor for the night. Sanu is very down to earth and besides being an amazing teacher would always be there to listen to us even on our down days. We could not have envisioned a more beautiful, choreographed dance and looking forward to returning for further classes.

Sanushka from The Secret Garden of Dance has a tireless, unwavering love, commitment and passion for what he does. A brilliant dancer, and a master of teachers. He possesses a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the art of dance. I’ve witnessed him transform students with no prior dance experience within minimal time, to coaching high end professional dancers seeking new heights with their dancing. This dance studio is none like any other here in Melbourne. With highly trained skilled staff, I find that I am challenged each week after every session. This studio is the hidden gem of dance in Melbourne! I was so impressed by Sanushka's style and methods of teaching from a workshop I attended in Cairns that I specifically moved to Melbourne to learn from him and his studio. He teaches you so much more than just steps; he teaches you about the music, how to understand it and really breaks things down in a way that I have never seen from any other teacher. I am now travelling in Europe and am still able to apply so much of what he has taught me to push my learning further than I ever thought possible. Caroline is the co-director along side Sanu who is a also phenomenal dancer and teacher who has learnt from the best. Her precision and technique is so impressive and she also breaks things down in a way that helps you learn really efficiently. I honestly owe so much to these magnificent teachers for the amount of joy they have passed onto me through dance and music. Sanushka's teaching has just been amazing. As a couple we've had a deep dive in Argentine tango, and our progress over these few months has exceeded anything we expected. If you’re wondering whether you should come here for your wedding dance (or any other dance needs you have) JUST DO IT! Caroline helped me and my partner learn an amazing salsa for our wedding dance, and we managed to look pretty damn good for two people that couldn’t dance walking in there. We also had SO much fun and got along so well with Caroline, she’s a fabulous teacher and person! JUST DO IT!

From the very beginning of our wedding planning journey, we knew that our first dance was something we really wanted to put time and effort towards. Sanushka and the team at The Secret Garden of Dance were incredible in always leading with our vision and story in creating something really special for us. Sanushka has a passion for both dance and teaching, meaning we didn’t just learn choreography, we got to try out different styles of dance, watch the instructors demonstrate their ideas and really workshop everything as a team. Our lessons were truly an unexpected highlight of the wedding planning process! We always looked forward to our time at the studio as it gave us an opportunity to learn something new together as well as to slow down and focus on each other, which often gets lost amidst the rush of planning a wedding. Our first dance was such a dream and Sanushka went above and beyond to make sure that on the big day, we felt confident to truly enjoy that moment in front of all of our loved ones.

Sanu is simply the best Salsa dance teacher. First of all, he is a warm person who makes his students feel very welcome. His encouragement and positivity also makes his students feel very motivated. I went to multiple dance studios and learned from different teachers in Melbourne, and every teacher was good in their own way. However, what I was missing was the foundation and structure, and Sanu turned out to be the perfect teacher for that. He combines science/logic thinking and art/dancing in such a beautiful way. Additionally, Sanu’s philosophy towards dancing and life is also something that I appreciated a lot. The studio itself is also very spacious and lovely. I look forward to learning more from Sanu.

My husband and I were due to marry in 2020, however when Covid hit, it pushed our wedding right up to April 2022. With many postponements that came our way we were at ease when it came to our bridal dance. When I approached Sanushka to teach us, he went above and beyond to ensure that we not only learned the dance but we enjoyed every bit of it despite lockdowns in-between and the uncertainty of things. Sanushka including the staff at the Secret Garden of Dance were so friendly and accommodating. Sanu choreographed our dance to illustrate our love story having a meaning to our first dance. My husband and I would like to express how grateful we are to Sanushka for going above and beyond to make our first dance a beautiful memory.

Looking for a dance school and choreographer for our wedding dance, we had been highly recommended The Secret Garden of Dance by a number of people. From our first lesson with Sanu, his experience and passion for dance and teaching were evident. We were always comfortable and every lesson was enjoyable. Sanu, Caroline and the team really invested a lot in our learning, and were so generous with their time and advice - they really cared about our performance as much as we did. And it paid off! Without a doubt my favourite dance school in Melbourne! My wife and I have been students here for several years and also decided to ask Sanu to prepare a choreography for our wedding dance. The wedding dance went beyond our expectations and it is a moment we will never forget! Sanu and Caroline have an outstanding attention to details and their teaching style is impeccable: logical, clear, passionate. All the teachers at The Secret Garden are very professional but at the same time the classes are fun and energetic. I highly recommend trying their Cuban salsa class, you won’t be disappointed!

Learning to dance at The Secret Garden of Dance was the best decision we made for our wedding. We were so grateful to have Sanushka as our wedding dance teacher. He was friendly, professional, and very passionate about his dancing and teaching. My hubby and I were both complete beginners and not knowing anything about dancing at the start. Sanushka was patiently took us step by step and taught us how to listen to and follow the rhythm. Through his help, we have build up our confidence and able to perform our wedding dance towards high standards. Learning to Dance at The Secret Garden of Dance was the best part of wedding preparations. My husband and I had so much fun and it was a special part of our wedding day. A big thanks to Caroline for being such an amazing teacher and making us feel comfortable as we learned to dance.

Couples looking to learn a wedding dance, look no further

We first found out about The Secret Garden of Dance through my sister who had registered us for a trial class ahead of our wedding. My husband and I both enjoy dancing socially, but had not had previous experience with learning a choreographed routine. Caroline made us feel welcome and took the time out to get to know us as a couple and thoughtfully crafted a routine for us which we will think back on fondly for years to come. Caroline was patient, professional, articulate and very concise with how she taught us. Instead of rushing into learning the full choreography, she iterated the importance of nailing the basics first and spent time with us till we got it right. Going to classes every week for the 6 weeks in the lead up to our wedding, was something we both eagerly anticipated, and helped us not only learn a new skill, but helped us grow closer together as a couple. Everyone loved our first dance and were totally taken by surprise by our moves! Thank you Caroline - you helped make our wedding feel extra special and unforgettable for us xxx
