The Salty Dog Cafe reviews
52Awesome product, the coffee is amazing and the use of the drip filters is amazing to pack on camping trips or just holidays so you have no need to miss out on the best coffee! And the packaging has the coolest art work on it, it looks amazing! And the staff a fast to reply to questions and very helpful. I would highly recommend this product ️
Stunning place for a morning swim and coffee! It does get busy to just be patient. Coffee is worth it! Also it’s called salty dog for a reason lots of furry friendly pups!
I love this place. Relaxed with great food and drinks. The smoothies are delicious.
And I LOVE ALL THE DOGS.
I'll be back often.
Great coffee and amazing location, friendly staff and they even give your dog water dishes! Two thumbs up
What a gorgeous cafe looking over the water. Food was delicious, view spectacular and coffee amazing. What a hidden gem.
Always busy but super friendly staff and locals w great variety of food and drinks, kids menu and coffee is good. If you LOVE dogs this is the space, BYO puppy
Great coffee on living beach front a bit let down by skip bins and council recycling in the view and carpark
The infamous @standpipesmc postie riding bakery destroying postie bike gang swept thru here on a stunning 30° day and man where our hungry stomachs satisfied.
As per usual, we all ended up getting something different and here are the reviews:
Brekkie pie - “pretty bloody good”
Veggie burger - “probably the best I’ve had”
Walnut and pumpin roll - this was mine, it was super unique and I loved it a lot, this would be a regular of mine if I lived locally
Brekkie burgers (1 veg/ 1 with meat) - filling, tasty and “they nailed the classic”
Salami toastie - “was soo concerned on getting to my cronut to focus on the toastie”
Chef Mel, an absolute fox, hand delivered the food and was super happy to hear the glowing reviews. Thanks guys we will be back
Right on the beach with really great staff even though they were under the pump with so many patrons.
Really good food and coffee.
A must see in Torquay
Loved the cafe, the staff are very dog and human friendly. Their coffee is one of the best in Torquay. Loved the scrambled eggs too and great vibe and location
The Good -
Lovely location
My partner loved her burrito bowl and her coffee
Fairly fast service between ordering and getting our drinks and food
The Bad -
Ordered flathead and got squid, which is slightly annoying but forgivable as it was busy and the staff member probably just didn't hear me properly.
Overpriced; I usually don't mind paying a bit more at small businesses for a number of reasons, but the portions are not worth the price. I ordered a milkshake (about $8 if I recall correctly) and it was only the size of a small McDonald's cup which was very disappointing on a hot summer's day.
I would go back again, but maybe only for coffee or to buy a cold drink from the fridge if I was at the beach.
Arguably best coffee in Torquay (Ocean Grind beans) and super consistent. Despite being constantly busy, staff are organised and wait times aren't bad. Menu is also really yum w vegan options. Must be comfortable around dogs here!
Super impressed with the breakfast here. Very popular place, so had to wait a bit to find a seat. Casual atmosphere with lots of surfers and people with their cute doggies. Food came out amazingly fast and was delicious, iced latte was so refreshing on the hot morning we went. Will be coming back for sure when next in Torquay.
What a great place for lunch! We turned up unannounced and the place was packed. We waited 10mins for a table which soon eventuated. Ordered and food arrived very quickly. The burger was excellent, and as good as the photo. Nachos was a large serve and not over 'cheesed' which was a pleasant change. The true test of pub style food however is calamari and I am happy to report that it was perfect. Tender and beautifully seasoned. The fish and chips was equally good. Dogs are welcome and the staff were really attentive. Great view of the beach completes the picture. Highly recommended.
I love the Salty Dog! It is casual dining at its best. Great, healthy food and the best view ever. The doggies are welcome and it's child friendly. Good people.
Next to the beach went for a swim. Got showers in the bathroom. Coffee was nice, view was great and had a nice vibe. Good place if you like dogs
A very very nice café. Friendly staff, very tasty food, and decent value for money.it provides nice outdoor seating, and a very nice atmosphere with nice, happy, dogs everywhere. I would recommend a banana smoothie!
The food was really yummy and the service was great. Except once I asked for almond milk and I got normal vows milk which was very bad for me as I'm lactose intolerant.
Standard Cafe food, busy, good vibes, lots of dog hair which i guess is expected at a doggy Cafe. The food was okay tasting we had nachos, burger and fish stix. The smoothies looked to be delicious and popular.
Saltydog Cafe - found in Torquay, near Yellow Bluff and nestled in front of Zeally Bay, with parking nearby - this cafe is the perfect spot for a meal or drink. Most days they operate from 6 am - 3 pm and an hour longer on Fridays.
They sell a range of merchandise, have a wide menu selection and great coffee. With rustic picnic tables and benches outside and a generously sized function room inside, the Salty Dog Cafe caters to various clientele and occasions. Staff are friendly and attentive and clearly enjoy working there.
Lunch Recommendations
Soba Noddles Salad- added chicken tenders sitting on a bed of baby spinach, pickled ginger [yum], wakame, edamame, cucumber with drizzled furikake and miso dressing.
The Ocean Grind coffee blend has an intense and slightly bitter flavour - perfect as a long black - great for the day's start or after a long beach walk.
Green Goddess Smoothie - a large protein hit filled with spinach, peanut butter, banana chunks complete with coconut milk and flakes on top. *It was that good I went back for another later in the week!
The Saltydog Cafe vibe is chilled-out, the view superb, the food healthy and reasonably priced - worth a visit or two!
