The Salty Dog Cafe

It's like the Eifel Tower of Torquay. If you haven't been at the Salty Dog you haven't really seen Torquay!

The Salty Dog Cafe lived up to the hype. Wonderful coffee, food & atmosphere. Staff were friendly and overall we had a great afternoon. Can’t wait to go back!

Great little cafe opposite the dog beach! Extremely dog friendly and heaps of outdoor seating. Only stopped for the coffee, but it was A+!

Doggy friendly, fabulous food and fast courteous service. Had eggs bene and loved it, the coffee.superb.
Great spot for brunch or lunch.especially if you have a fur baby.

Super busy, but easy to understand why! Food and location are unrivalled, and staff are lovely.

We have previously had lunch here and food was super tasty, we had callamari, chips and salad and a beef burger and chips, huge serves also. This time we had only takeaway coffees and a strawberry milkshake and we went down to the beach, such a great location, coffee was lovely and made well.

I had read all these good reviews, so I was very disappointed. Bitter undrinkable coffee and eggs were rubbery. Not an enjoyable meal. Front of house Staff were friendly and attentive. Seating for people with pets should be separated, and I love dogs but not when I'm eating.

Our dog absolutely loves coming to get her puppacino's from The Salty Dog Cafe the food and service is also amazing

Location fantastic dog friendly makes a great atmosphere food delicious fabulous coffee. However service is ordinary waited 40 min for my salad only to be told by a young girl that it was on its way. No care factor what so ever. Upon asking at counter I was told my order had been missed. Not impressed unfortunately you sadly have disappointed me. The young lady needs to show some compassion & take responsibility when questioned not just brush it off.

This place gets super busy but is always consistent great coffee and food plus there’s always cute dogs about great spot, close to the beach and easy to meet friends there.

Beautiful right on the sand. Pity kitchen closes at 2. Such a pity. But I guess good on you guys for having a life. Lesson to be learnt from all of us

The place is perfect! The view is great and the food is good!

But please do soemtnifn about your staff……. Every time I come (and I do often) I’m shocked on how unfriendly and unprofessional the staff is….
It’s terrible for a business to have people like thsi working…
While I’m sure some are great most of them are rude, never smile, don’t even look at u when taking your orders barely says hi and thanks…
It’s very very frustrating for such a great place! I would have a turnover I’m sure lots of great poeple happy to work with great customer skills!

Yummy food.right next to the beach.the green goddess smoothie was absolutely delish and the coffee is on point.will definitely be back when in torquay next.

The coffee cups went smaller and the price went up! Bye bye Salty Dog. Food is very nice but overpriced as well.

Stopped in at the Salty Dog Cafe after a friend recommended it and they were great in there. Great food, great atmosphere and I like that people could have their pets there.

Very busy, but nice. My almond croisson was heated in the MICROWAVE! I promptly returned the ruined piece of chewy horror and was courteously offered a refund. I opted for a cold almond croisson to have with my capuccino which was delicious. Very courteous service with a smile.

Surprised at how fast the service was given it was a public holiday and they were packed, friendly staff, good fairly priced food, can’t go wrong.

Busy cafe with lots of doggos hanging out at the tables! They have a sizeable menu which even includes puppacinos

This place is super chilled. Food is simple but tasty and well cooked. The real positive of this place is the view and the location - right on the beach. Its marvelous - dress warm though because a lot of the seating is outside.
