The Royal Hotel Mornington reviews
72Stayed on the top floor, the bed and room was comfortable, only 1 shared bathroom / toilet, there was a rather large peep hole in the bathroom door and the bath was peeling as it had been painted over. Certainly worst bath shower l have ever experienced. This hotel needs to upgrade their bathroom and toilet especially for the price they charge.
I had a burger, it was very average the bun was cold and chips were below average. I was served my meal on a metal tray which made it very difficult to eat from. I requested and was given a plate which made life easier. On a positive note the staff were lovely.
We've been here several times in large groups and have had good service, food came out really quick. Unfortunately on Australia's Day weekend, I brought a group of friends here to grab a bite prior to doing a winery tour, foods were below average. The beef burger was far too rare and not evenly cooked, so only half could be consumed. Was told the patty is meant to be medium rare, but who wants to risk getting food poisoning. Minced patty meat is in no way safe to consume rare like steaks. Will not be back.
A Grand Old Lady standing tall on the Bayside Cliffs of Port Phillip Bay. A Hotel with Quality Accommodation, Restaurant & even a quaint Secret Back Bar that has awesome live Music every week & great service
Well worth a visit on a day with good weather. The outdoor seating area is great for a meal overlooking the water. We enjoyed the food - good solid pub food with a view
Very disappointed with the meals here.
All 4 of us did not enjoy and was so looking forward to going there as havent been for a number of years.overpriced for the meals
we received and cerainly wouldnt go again. Huge disappointment.maybe staff need a lesson in how to smile as well.
Astronomical prices for what you get.
ONE Vegan option on the menu.
We had a table of twelve, the place was packed (close to 150 people all ordering) & they state “we will wait until every order from your table is received until we process them”, I told them not too, knowing full well we would be here for hour until the slow coached ordered. They wouldn’t process my order as “that’s not how we do it”
$30 for some cauliflower & then that - won’t be back.
Nice views and facilities. Don't go for the food. I had the chicken parma for lunch.
I've had much better. Pretty much anywhere else.
Same applies to the other meals in our group.
Have a drink, enjoy the surroundings and go elsewhere to eat.
Spent our wedding night in the suite upstairs which was very olde world. It was gorgeous. The meals are always so much better than you would expect a pub meal to be. Nothing better than sitting on the front porch with a glass of bubbles looking out over the water on a sunny day.
Always nice to stop in for a Fat Yak and a nice meal on the veranda whilst enjoying the vistas.
Nice views, great location. But you pay for through the nose with overpriced standard beers. Food is expensive and the burger was very small and greasy. The views are worth a one off experience.
Choice of music in the bar is outstanding on occasion and bar stuff dont mind making coffees for non drinkers.
