The Royal Hotel Drouin reviews
52Got our anniversary dinner as takeaway tonight. It was great. Veges were fresh, chicken was tender and chips were well cooked and crisp
No marks on any staff no one checking check ins! Food took over an hour definitely hope I don’t have to go back there
Called in for a bite to eat and a couple of cold one.
Parma chips n salad was spot on and a decent serving as well.
Staff polite and welcoming.
Haven't been for a meal for awhile, won't be going again in a hurry, my chicken snitzel was burnt and very dry, chips over cooked, vegies like eating them raw, very disappointed. Would give a good review if it was warranted
Absolutely amazing place. It was obviously quiet due to restrictions but that added to the lovely atmosphere. Was there with mum and stepdad to celebrate his birthday. I had medium rare steak and chips while they both had fish and chips. All meals were done just right, actually, the steak was perfect! Customer service was excellent and staff were brilliant. Would definitely come here again!
Great food and really great ambience. Perfect for date night or lunch. Ordered their American share platter and it was awesome! Taste so great and really worth to try. Love it!
I have attended a 21st and an 80th at TRHD recently and the food, drinks and staff have been exceptional.
Everyone's meals at lunch time where a fantastic quality and the team were very hospitable towards my 3 yo wandering and inquisitive daughter.
Great atmosphere, food and staff. Meals are large and tasty. Pork belly beautiful. Parma's are great and big. Do yourself a favour and go for a meal here.
Chefs did a great job with the food. I had the chicken souvlaki. Chicken was cooked perfect and the chips were tasty. The experience started on a high note and I was keen to try some of the dessert after I found out we still had $250 on the tab. I walked up to the bar to order a dessert and was told the kitchen closed at 15: 00. It was 14: 55 and we weren't notified of this. When I asked the bartender why we we weren't notified the kitchen would be closing so that we could order dessert he shrugged his shoulders, had a snark attitude and walked off. Definitely not the way a customer should be treated. We ended up purchasing 5 bottles of wine to finish off the tab. Poor customer service and communication with customers. Its not hard to notify a function room of 20 or so people with a tab that the kitchen will be closing.
Very tasty food and portions are huge, this was the first time I wasn't able to finish the dish, as the portion will be sufficient for two people. The place and was busy during dinner time, and still a good atmosphere to have a small gathering or party.
Wifes (main) meal: carrots were hard, asparagus was stringy and scalloped potatoes were lathered in garlic. I had a seniors chicken snitzel that was less than half the regular size, was more like a childs serve. Coke was flat and was told it's always like that due to the syrup they use. HELLO! Won't be going back.
This place was made over in late 2019 and looks great!
The menu is awesome and we have been getting take away almost every week (can recommend the Tennessee Parma!)
There is a good range of beer and even through the pandemic restrictions there are tables available for dinner and tables you can sit to have a drink.
The food was okay. I had actually booked a table for six via messenger 2 weeks prior but when we arrived they knew nothing of my booking. Then we were put out in the drafty function room, due to social distancing rules.
Nicely renovated hotel. Staff keen and attentive. Poor selection of beers on tap and I am not sure they are true to label. Very much a traditional pub and public bar has a good atmosphere and pleasant views. Pool table is a beauty.
So haven' t been for a while as last experience food wise was not that great. Again food was very disappointing. Chicken Kiev was way over cooked so sent back. Waited another 20 minutes only to have it and just as bad. Wait staff excellent. Music average and kitchen. Well just not good. Would not recommend or revisit in a hurry. Kudos for the free drink though!
Well I got a seafood basket, it was ok although a little oily, the only disappointment was before I got there I was hoping for an old fashioned mixed grill which most places do have and unfortunately it's not on your menu.
We had the pleasure of spending the weekend at the Royal and all I can say is it is fabulous. The staff were brilliant, the food was fabulous and the accommodation was. We had a ball and can’t wait till the next occasion to return.
Table of about 20 people attended the Royal for a birthday celebration. 6 meals were not brought out, apparently the order taken at the bar was not put through to the kitchen, waitresses should of noticed the missing meals before we had to complain. The missing meals were brought out eventually but not until after the cake was cut and some people had already left. This is the second time this has happened to us since it has reopened. On the upside the Chef should be complemented meals were presented well and tasted nice but waitresses and bar staff need a lot more training.
Food was average, over cooked vegetables and meat chewy and tasteless. No Australian fish on the menu. Extremely slow service but good customer service. Good atmosphere to be able to bring kids though.
Really good customer service, but chicken we had was under cooked. Most meals were fresh and well done, but disappointing chicken.
