Very enjoyable meal. Out with about 12 others after conference and was really good. Service was friendly and helpful the food was very good. My steak was perfect although not a great fan of the way they did the prawns. Vegies on the side where good as well. Had lemon tart for sweets and that was great as well. Overall the price was very reasonable for what we got. Will definitely return when next in Melbourne.

Have eaten here for the last 13 years, never had a bad meal. Both counter meals and bistro, would recommend to everyone!

Couldn't hear the person next to me talk, very hard to have a conversation. Food, steak ok not the best but ok, expensive they fill the plate with oversized chips and not much of anything else. Service fair but was very busy seemed not enough staff. Been a few times with others wouldn't go there for the food far better around very old format

This has to be Melbournes best pub. Really great food at affordable prices, and very friendly staff. No complaints about my Wagyu rump for $30

Yum and yum. Steaks are the best, but there are other great options too. Try the mussels they are delicious. Service is fantastic and I love the atmosphere. The function rooms upstairs are divine for any occasion.

After 30 years of visits, it still rates as the best steak place in Melbourne let alone Victoria. Outstanding service and quality of food outcomes. Well done to the team once again.

Everyone should have a steak at the Railway. Wine selection and service is good - decor is straight out of the 1980s with sporting memorabilia from Ali amongst others

Had my son's graduation celebration with friends. 7 guests, our table was ready, service responsive and professional while the food was well above expectations.

Booking system was smooth and accurate, and we called to add an extra seat a few hours before our reservation without a problem.

Easy location to find, and plenty of Uber drivers available late (11: 57pm) when we reluctantly left.

Good wine list with Australian and International options

Steak was under cooked and the rest of the food was Luke warm. Staff friendly and they comped us desert because of the undercooked steak so will give them another chance.

This place serves really large portion and good quality of steak; the dish that is still memorable for me is the spicy ribs - juicy and tender, just perfect!

Awesome place! We were looking for a steak place in Melbourne and found this restaurant online reading reviews here. At first it doesn't look like much, more of a semi casual pub that you would go to watch sports and do your weekly betting. We quickly understood that we went to the right place once we saw the raw pile of meat on display in the kitchen. The steak was really well cooked and of very good quality, all this at a very decent price too. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a good piece of meat while in Melbourne.

If there's a better steak to be had in Melbourne I'm yet to try it.

A traditional Aussie pub turned exceptional steak restaurant. Utilises some of the best beef in the country and cooks it to perfection. Expensive, but we'll worth the visit if you're in the area.

Flew to Melbourne town for the better half's 50th on the weekend. As an avid listener to SEN I had to book in for dinner at the Railway Club on Saturday night and see what all the hype was about. I had the scotch 350gm and the better half had the filet mignon and what a meal! Service was fantastic but the feed, wow! All I can say is we will be visiting again very very soon, in fact the feed alone is well worth the trip!

Always a great venue for a work or social lunch. As it’s an older pub, it’s cosy inside so best to book if expecting to eat in the restaurant. We always catch up for a quick beer in the lounge then settle in for a long lunch. My favourites are the chilly muscles followed by a 440gm porterhouse. The wine selection is also very good. Price; 10 guests, 4 hours, 3 courses; $1,350

They say Melbounes best steak house and they are right. Trip advisor top resteraunt. Always a top feed. More than just steak to choose from as well. Generous portion sizes. Meals are well priced for the quality.the steak may seem expensive but wait until you try it.its melt in tour mouth and not an ounce of gristle or chuncks of fat. Cant fault service either.plenty of wait staff on hand and all polite and friendly. TIP: always book ahead as they are always busy

Cheap drinks and free bar food at happy hour. The ratio is 1 girl to every 20 guys, so definitely not a date night spot
