The Public Brewery / Dainton Taphouse Croydon

Great open space with industrial vibes. Staff were friendly and doing their best on a busy Saturday night, dealing with lots of families and a Hen’s night. Service could be improved by QR codes for menus with more information available on the wide range of beers (beyond just the name and alcohol content). Menus placed on the tables were inconsistent, which lead to disappointment after lining up at the bar for 10 minutes to find out the item hadn’t been available for
months. Some acoustic panels would help reduce the echoes and make the space more conversation friendly.

Went for dinner and drinks last night and left without having dinner.
To start with, was seated at a table that hadn’t been wiped down or if it had, it’d been done extremely poorly.
Service was slow at the bar
Ordered a starter to share and when it arrived was handed a bowl with no cutlery or napkins. Seemed like a problem to get some when requested.
Upon attending the bar to make next drink and main meal order I noticed a few others being polite and standing back from the bar in order to create a bit of distance between people ordering and people walking through.
With 3-4 of us waiting for 10-15 mins the young barmen decided that serving the younger girls who’d just walked straight up to the bar first was a better option.

Didn’t seem to be any organisation or etiquette.
After being snubbed at the bar we promptly left and skipped any further drinks and meals and frankly wouldn’t be interested in returning.

There are numerous venues similar to this in the area and would highly recommend checking out the others first.

Often come here for a meal and a few very nice bevies. Always great though they stumbled and dropped the ball tonight. Tim was quick to make amends and a great night had. Cheers

Had a great dinner tonight. Really great gluten free food range. The manager decided that he wasn’t happy with how long we waited for our drinks (it wasn’t that long, but probably longer than what they aim for) and gave us free dessert. The hospitality and service was excellent. Highly recommend. Trivia night is also a bit of fun!

Great afternoon by the fire, delicious food and a good selection of wines for us to choose from. Special thanks to Tim.we were well looked after by him today and he arranged a taxi for us (as ours didn't show). Great personality and a nice bloke!

But the thing that stood out to me most was the service that was provided by the team at @publicbrewingco.

The venue manager Tim spent alot of the night serving us and was honestly unbelievable.
I could sit here for days writing about how good the service was at @publicbrewingco but you just have to head out there and witness it for yourself.

Everything was delicious, Tim was super professional and a pleasure to deal with. Grabbed a nice bourbon from the bottle shop on the way out. Highly recommend. Thanks.

One of the best lunches I’ve had in a while, had their cider and draught and both were delicious

Food was horrible! Chicken had the texture of rubber, pasta was a little better yet still below average. Salam was burnt AF. Beer and cocktails underwhelming…. Don’t waste your time or money.

The young girl who was waitressing was rude and clearly didn’t want to be there. Unfortunately it ruined our experience of the place and won’t be going back.

Staff were not helpful at all. The menu is a disaster! Qr code to get it.half the table got one menu through the link, with 4 mains.the other half of the table had pizza etc on theirs. Took forever to get our food, and taking 25 mins for a drink to arrive.sheesh. The worst part.the waiter had no idea what's on the menu

We were a group of six friends catching up after lockdown. Whilst the food and service was good the music was way too loud and we could hardly speak. Honestly, the average age of the patrons was between 30- 60 yrs old. The music was thumping away like we were in a nightclub. And worse, they deliberately turned it up further at 8.45 to get everyone out. We did our catch up on the pavement outside.
A terribly rude experience and would not go back.

Excellent spot for a quick drink after work, or going with friends or family, and they often have live music on the weekends.

This place is just like anything in the CBD. Seems that's what people like these days. Not their fault for going with the status quo. I just want an old school Aussie doen to earth pub but they're getting further and fewer between. Reckon I'll try Dorset Garden Hotel next.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Just ashame it's not air-conditioned as it got very hot in there.

We were a group of 6 catching up after lockdown. Food was ok but menu quite limited. They were understaffed so we actually had to get up & ask to order after a good 20 minutes. No bubbly available which was disappointing. However my biggest complaint was the volume of the music. It was as if the barman was having his own little party it was so loud. The patrons were aged between 35 - 60 so I’m sure they were all finding it annoying too. We asked them to turn it down and that lasted a minute until they turned it up even further. Very rude attitude. Just really disappointing as we just couldn’t chat easily until we were outside in the car park!

Fantastic lunch today. Service was excellent! Doing a great job post lockdown! Well done team! Food, drink and service was fantastic!

A mix up with communications has easily been sorted with a phone call. Appreciated being rang and it was great to talk to someone in person. A difficult time for us all in lockdown so it, s great to still be able to order online. Looking forward to visit the public brewery some time in future as friends have enjoyed this place
