The Original Queenscliff Fish and Chips

One of the best fish and chip shops I've been to. Very fresh fish, wonderful flavour and quick service considering how busy they were. Wouldn't hesitate to go back next time we're in the area.

Awesome grilled Fish and Chips with chicken salt. Cleanest fish and chip shop I have ever visited. Highly recommended

We ordered the pack with fish, potato cakes, dim sims & chips plus a portion of calamari. We really rate the calamari, the crunchy batter enveloping the tender flesh. We ordered take away and enjoyed the meal in the nearby park. Service was quick & friendly.

Amazingly efficient with large number of customers. Had a kebab. It was just right, moist and great salad.

Fresh fish made fresh for you. Things like stripping the spine thread from the back of prawn shows they care about what they serve. Definitely a go to place when in town

There was some pros and cons with this place.
Pros: fish and chips tasted beautiful
Cons: very expensive (my family's order at home would be $35 max.our order at the Original Queenscliff fish n chips came to just under $50) also use way to much paper. My Dad's burger in batter was rapped up by its self. I would have wrapped it with the rest of the order or just put it in a paper bag. Way to much paper for one item. No wonder our order was expensive. They are paying for the paper they used on the order.

Over all next time if I am in Queenscliff if I was craving fish n chips i would still order from the original queenscliff fish n chips.however if I was searching for just any take out for dinner I would go to the local Pizza place we went to the day after just a walk down from the fish n chip shop. Our order came to just $30 at the local pizza place, tasted great was filling and wasn't near pricey as the fish n chip place.

Enjoyed my fish and chips from this shop, and my personal view is it is much better than another shop in town, which I think is a bit overrated for its fish and chips. Staff were very friendly. Can definitely recommend this shop. Please note it has to be a very very exceptional fish and chip shop for it to get more than 3 stars from me. Enjoy.

Probably the best fish and chips I have ever bought. Fresh fish on display, clean cooking oil, clean shop, friendly staff, generous serving.

The food was amazing. Very fresh and tasty. The store itself is modern and clean.

The staff did forget the tomato and tartare sauce from my order, and I didn’t realise until I got to our accommodation, but these things happen and it’s no big drama.

Would go back there for sure.

Ate here twice, nothing to fail. Good customer service and a nice bunch of boys working here. The fried calamari were spot on and even tho the meal wasn't big it was very filling. Price was reasonable for this area and food tasted fresh and crisp. Will definitely be popping in again when we are down this way.

Went here instead of the other fish and chip shop in Queenscliff near the park only because of the vegetarian options. The chips here are so much better than the other place and a lot faster, so if you want fast service I would recommend going here.

However the flake we bought wasnt very nice, the batter is not as good as the other fish and chips shop in Queenscliff, and the calamari rings we ordered were missing from our food.

Overall the prices are pretty good, the service is fast, and the chips are very good but if I was to recommend a fish and chips shop in Queenscliff I would say there are better ones to go to.

I was part of a walking group of 17 people, half of whom wanted fish and chips. I ordered flake and 3 potato cakes. We walked to the White Lighthouse to enjoy lunch and I had the pleasure to eat a very delicious flake and 4 - not 3 - hot and tasty potato cakes. They coped wonderfully with our myriad orders and they are not expensive!

Ordered a fishermen's basket which included fish cocktails, crumbed prawns, scallops and calamari, chips and tartare sauce. I also added an extra piece of butter fish. The batter was crispy and not overly oily. It all tastes fresh and the butter fish had a nice firm texture for fish. The tartare sauce was delicious and looks home-made. There are few tables of the front but we chose to take it down the road to eat at the park opposite the pub. Would definitely recommend this place if you're in town.

Grab takeaway and drive to the sea while diving into really good humble no fluff just old school fresh fish and chips.

We had fish plate for 1 for $15 and chicken burger for $10. Good things: Side sauce was yum, probably homemade. Bad things: Even for dining in they packed the food in so many papers, instead of giving it in a plate or a box. Second, too much of salt on fish plate. Third, there was no cutlery, which is weird. All of us ate with hand.

I would suggest on cutting down the busy age of too many papers and reduce the amount of salt. Price range is good, not too expensive like fancy restaurants with ambiance. That’s probably why the customer service isn’t that great.

Great service from the friendly staff. The whiting and chips delicious, as well as the other bits and pieces.
