The Nixon Hotel reviews
62Very nice place to eat, food is great bar can get rowdy when there's a game on but great atmosphere.
We visited The Nixon on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th December for a meal from Country Victoria (Euroa) The Service was outstanding and the Management and Staff were friendly, welcoming, and the guys on the door awesome!
Our waitress Aleesha was efficient, helpful and knowledgeable and made us feel like the only customers she had to look after.
As far as food goes 10/10. The Nixon Burger was outstanding, as were The Fish'N'Chips and the Salt and Pepper Calamari all of which were served with a fresh salad and crunchy chips. Highly recommend.
Highly recommend! The venue was so easy to work with and flexible when having a large group.nothing was too hard and the meal was great value for money!
Would happily have our next team Christmas here again!
Special thanks to Charlie.
A great pub for a meal or a drink. The food is always good and the renovations have given the place a really nice refresh.
Great food and service. Dame the manger is a top bloke. Makes you feel very welcome and a friendly bloke
C. U. B.run pub, so the only craft beer in the place was Young Henry's Newtowner. They did have Pirate Life and 4 Pines at a stretch. The place was clean and the staff friendly even if they did try to tell me how to pour my beer into my own glass. I'd expect the prices to be lower where they are paying little tax on their beer, but that didn't seem to be the case here.
Good pub grub, great prices, friendly staff. No frills pub. Great for before marvel event. Trivia Thursday's, special nights.really good.
The regular menu taste pretty alright but the pasta night specials feel like canned sauce on dried pasta with cheap sliced deli meat on top.
Great, friendly service (the staff are great). Good drinks and food selections. Nice chilled out pub that also has a bistro/dining area for those who want it.
A reliable set of menus for a pub and decent steak. I did not realise that it was a venue also for punters (albeit on the other side of the wall). The steak was meant to be medium rare but it was more medium-well done. Wouldn’t go for atmosphere, but worth a stop if you‘re in the area for lunch.
Management was horrible to my colleague, dropping profanities and being totally unprofessional. Will not be returning.
Rude bar staff shouted at a customer who dared to “touch” an exposed beer pipe. Huge overreaction and we subsequently left. A large group of regulars who work nearby are now lost customers for the Nixon.
Terribly slow service and when I told them there was melted plastic on my bacon they said "oh well".
Beer is fine here and the prices are good but I just ate a chicken parmigiana and it tasted old. Was dry and tasteless
Fantastic place, fantastic service/staff and fantastic ambience. A little busy on a hot Friday night - the price of being 'the' place to be, but adequate staffing meant 0 wait time for refreshments. Perfect!
Great place for lunch. Both dishes were $18 with a pot. Very well made and good quality. Wonderful service. Went for lunch on a Tuesday so wasn't packed. Quiet venue for the day. Nice location for the Docklands
At the risk of making this pub too popular THEY DO THE BEST STEAKS.
Monday is half price steak night.
It's a busy noisy pub with screens of sport everywhere. Thursday is trivia night and cheap pasta night.
We love eating here on quiet nights like Monday. Food is good enough to overcome irritation at noise on other nights.
It's super popular for post work groups. Book a table.
Staff are friendly. They go for the local pub good food market and achieve that.
If a nice cold brew or a little pub grub is all you're after, you've just hit the jackpot. Hands down, the best value for money you will find in Docklands. I'll take the $10 pints over every other venues $8 pots any day of the week 5
The most incredible food for decent prices, friendly staff and a really good location. Right across from Marvel Stadium and a quick trip to the CBD. Highly recommend.
