The National Golf Club reviews
37What a treat to attend the Bays Hospital Golf Day and play the Old Course at the National. Still the best golf course i have ever played!
Attended here for a birthday party. The food provided was excellent, the staff were even better.
Three sensational courses (one currently being rebuilt). Tough conditions, usually windy, thick rough and extremely fast greens which are hard to read. No green fees available, fairly expensive for guests.
Played in windy and showery conditions. Course is still in good condition but tough in the wind.
The golf course is very nice, green is very tricky that might caused slow play. The course was not very crowded but we had to wait at every hole and there are two groups waiting at almost every tee. Not sure if it happens often or I were just very unlucky. The course is very hilly. You should take the cart if you are not very fit.
After 30 years the NGC still offers the best quality golf facilities, top food and a promise of even better golf facilities when the Tom Doak course (currently under construction) is in play in 3 months.
This a golfing jewel in Victoria.
I don't know I never went there. I played Cape Schank instead it's a good course but really hard if you're not on your game
The Old Course is an exceptional golfing experience for the single handicappers, but a killer for the NAGAs!
A wonderful golf resort featuring 3championship grade course at the one venue and the other course closer to Melbourne. Always delighted and a buzz to play either course.
The National Golf Club (Moonah course) rated 5-1/2 stars: Greg Norman's extensive knowledge of playing the world's great links courses was handsomely employed on this exciting and thoroughly absorbing golf course. On this wonderfully natural golfing landscape Norman has created a dramatic and testing links layout. All the key ingredients of a great links are here in abundance: rolling fairways, rustic oyster-shaped bunkers, plenty of elevated tees and fast-paced undulating greens.
Great facilities and would be brilliant for functions and weddings, was disappointed in the courses. Amazing first impression, but not backed up throughout. Conditions of the course were not great (In January) and felt limited variability in course. Relies too much on the undulation of green to make the course difficult.
Played the Old. It was pretty much what my mates were telling me: a hard course where you need to be in play off the tee and hitting a green in reg does not necessarily mean you'll be walking off with an easy bogey. A cart and a course guide were definitely helpful.
Played golf with friends at The National Golf a few times. Love the stunning view and well maintained challenging course.
Saw a huge snake (as thick as your forearm) hiding in the rough very close to the green of 6th hole of the Old course - Golfers be careful!
Fantastic golfing experience, great views, awesome restaurant too. If you ever get a chance to visit don't miss out.
It was the best golf course but i think phesant rige in cedar falls iowa is the best because it is my home course
Australia only 72 hole complex, fantastic courses and facilities, designs from Norman, Thompson and Robert Trent Jones Jnr
Best golf course in Victoria with a picturesque view of the Port Phillip Bay over the mountains.very nice club house and friendly staff. Pro shop staff are great and very helpful
