The Montague Hotel reviews
48 Love going to the Montague. Very family & dog friendly. Had a nice few drinks in the sun yesterday. Has a real community feel about it.
Tram stop right outside. Perfect spot.
Quite possibly the best local pub in Melbourne. Amazing and friendly staff. Great service. Great food. We regularly travel from Caulfield to eat here.
Very nice menu options and tastes. Prices on the higher side for a pub and portions a touch too small in our whole groups opinion.
We were a party of four and booked a table for Friday night as it is a popular venue. The atmosphere was really good and cheerful. We had drinks at the bar while waiting for our table to be ready and then ordered two beef burgers, one parmi and a fish burger (unbattered as I wanted it). They brought a generous plate of mixed olives which we really enjoyed while we were waiting for our dishes. We were served in a timely manner short after and we all found our dishes really tasty and well presented. Recommend.
Great place for a casual drink or a pub meal. Service was prompt and staff were helpful and friendly. We had drinks and fries - the fries were very good. Nice outdoor seating.
After a difficult start of the day, we decided to stop for lunch and ended up at the Montague Hotel. This has definitely brighten our day! A really nice meal and a wonderful service. We had a 4 month old baby with us and the waitress Eloise was really professional and helpful. She even took our little one for a stroll in the pub while we were enjoying our meal! Thank you very much, we will be back
The ribeye was done to perfection but I have never been to a pub that charges extra for the sauce. Ordered half a dozen scallops but got really only three which had been cut in half. The toilet was dirty, floor and basin hadn't been cleaned.
Steak was excellent, staff were wonderful, and I'm still thinking about the yummy dessert one week on!
Friendly and welcoming staff. Food ok but I won't be returning as this is another example of a business using Covid as an excuse not to accept cash payment.
Food is wonderful here! I had the Southern Fried Chiken burger which tasted amazing and melted in your mouth. My wife had the spaghetti marinara which was also delicious! Our daughter had schnitzel and chips and that also melted in your mouth. My compliments to the chef! Cider on tap is local Colonial - very drinkable. Great staff here.
Five of us (3 generations) went for dinner during covid restrictions and felt safe. Distancing was appropriately observed and friendly greeting on arrival. Plenty of options on tap, generous servings and grandson Leo was offered an "extra" if he could eat it. Have been before and will go again.
Really enjoyable meal. The $22 steak special on a tuesday was good. Would be good to see other specials advertised. I didn't see any mention of specials for other days or happy hour deals. If I saw some I might look to come back?
We had a group of 20, including six young kids. The girls were fantastic and looked after us and made us feeling very welcome. Great service, great food and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Love the parmi so much but would love if their was garlic bread on the menu! (That and gravy are the only things missing at the Montague). Staff are always so fun and lovely, and the meal sizes are great! Love going here
A wonderfully friendly pub perfect for locals and visitors alike. Recently had the steak and it was delicious.
Highly recommend.
A cracking recently taken over and renovated hotel
Good honest pub grub, lovely pleasant staff and good beers
When full a good atmosphere
Nice atmopsher with very good service & food. I will defenantly go back without giving a second thought. Keep up the great work guy's.
Great spot with live music and good beers.
We also had a meal, burger and sausages with mash and peas, the sausages and mash were very good, the fries that came with the burguer where perfect and crisp however the burger was a bit dry and burned, I think we’re just unlucky there
Lovely pub with a real local community pub feel. Somewhat tucked away but worth the visit on a nice day. Food perhaps a little pricey, friendly owners and staff. Cafe across the road also by same owners and child friendly space with chalk provided for pavement.
