Horrible customer service. One lady with curly hair was really rude and dismissive. Will definitely not shop here again.

Make sure you check your receipt. I went here today, on Saturday, for their “super Saturday” 15% off sale and when I left the store, I checked my receipt and 5% off had been applied instead of 15% off. I returned to the store and was told I’d have to have everything rescanned but they decided just to refund cash. That’s fine.

However, then I got home and checked my receipt properly and was overcharged for a number of “red dot” sale items! So frustrating. I can’t be bothered returning but I wouldn’t have bought these items if they weren’t on sale, especially as one is out of date already.

Sorry Little Hen, you’ve lost my trust and loyalty. Please be transparent or just don’t bother offering discounts.

I receive promotional text messages from this business a few times a month. I now live in a different state and have requested several times by phone to have my number removed. Somehow this simple and valid request is being repeatedly ignored and I am growing increasingly frustrated!

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING ONLINE. The Little Hen happily took my money online for a product which they did not have in stock and could not get. They did not advise me and have now failed to refund despite my phone calls and emails over several weeks.

The old store was better, has some good products but the current store & payment counter arrangement not shopper friendly, rude unhelpful staff that don't comply with covid requirements - no masks, no distancing hard to find sign in.

Great place to go if you want to get home and discover you have paid top dollar for things like OFF milk.

Well stocked organic food store on the main shopping strip in Balaclava. Fresh fruit veg, delicious crusty bread and so many interesting items for cooking, health and household. Bought some beautiful scented soy candles new in stock and a great price. I will be back

I’ve really enjoyed coming here a couple of times recently. They have a great selection of grocery items, fruit & veg and all sorts of other things, and lovely staff. A little far for my regular shopping, but will definitely be returning.

A great local organic speciality stores with fresh veggies, dairy, meat and bread. Quite expensive. Good service.

Great place, good organic produce, lots of fresh fruit and veggies. Staff are very caring, interested in their customers and you can pay with cash if you choose to.

A BIG SHOUT OUT to Skye - when the other fruit shops nearby refused, you were more than happy to help us out with bringing fruit to my car & processing payment - all without my elderly father and I having to get out of the car. The most pleasant speaking voice and a BIG THANK YOU for going above and beyond when other places gave a flat no (and they are small fruit shops, not big supermarkets and you would think that they would offer in this COVID19 environment, some kind of contactless service). Fantastic range of products, including hard to find chilli sauces and organic chocolate. Friendly staff and conveniently located.

Male staff seem bored. Ac not strong enough so most product could be affected. The brand of essential oils are just sub standard. Not strong enough. The atmosphere in the shop always seem tense due to the aloof staff.

I’ve been shopping at Little Hen for 5 years now. As a North American I’m used to giant stores like Whole Foods. I have to say that Little Hen has the best selection and range of products in Melbourne (and trust me I’ve been to all the whole food shops) The staff is always very helpful and polite, and who doesn’t love a little trip down Carlisle street. Well done and thank-you Little Hen.

Never really write reviews but today i make an exception.

I unfortunately have a colic newborn and im on the hunt to try to find a product that can relieve her. I came to this shop in Balaclava because i know they sell organic and natural health stuff, my problem is that nobody seems to know much about their products.i mean i asked the cashier if she could help me with some info about this natural medicine for colic babes but was told she had no idea.ok.then I asked if someone else could and she just pointed to her manager who was busy talking to someone else but apparently wasn’t gonna be able to help anyways cause doesn’t know it either.lol

This place is always out of stock of things. Their ordering system seems terrible and staff just shrug their shoulders
