A little bit of French is so ooh laa for Sunday brunch takeaways and the best mid week dine-ins. These guys are da bomb - Thank you Chris and Penny.

Been here a few years ago its certainly the best Deli in this area the restaurant serves fantastic lunches definitely a place to eat at its just the best!

We had the most spectacular dinner party for my Dad’s 70th at The Little French Deli. We’ve been lucky enough to travel the world and dine at Michelin Star restaurants but we’ve not had a better meal than what we’ve found here on our very own doorstep. 5 star cuisine, atmosphere and delightful staff. Could not reccomend more highly. Thank you so much to Chris and Penny and the wonderful staff for an evening we will always remember!

Staff are fantastic, the variety is substantial and how they display things really makes it look like you've been to France when you walk through the door. However.the best thing in that shop isn't just the coffee.the ham and cheese croissants are just to die for. I don't know how they make the cheese filling but it's so gooey and yet still remains in it when you bite in, the croissant is nice and crispy and the ham is fresh. Have had twice now and will be trying the rest of the menu. Keep up the amazing tastes guys and girls

Amazing baguette, amazing almond croissant (best I've had all year) and an even better coffee. Down-home European service and setting which is a refreshing change from the usual standard Australian Kombucha avocado cafes. Highly recommended.

Had a delicious takeaway from here over the weekend. TLFD has adapted their menu well to takeaway options and they even catered for two vegetarians. Delicious gnocchi and French onion soup.
The croissants here are also amazing, get in early though because they are often gone by afternoon.

This place had few owners along the last few years. We have been there a couple of times this year. The owner is lovely, the food was good, but, in modesty opinion, the price is too high for what it is. Anyway, still worthy to go and have a taste, you might have a completely different opinion, for the time being, 3 stars.

Stopped in for a quick bite of lunch. Shared a smoked salmon baguette.so tasty. Looking forward to making this our 'GO TO'. Excited to try their other offerings.

The 5 stars are for the food. It is delicious and oh so French. I'm perplexed by the service though. It is really quite poor. When you walk in the wait staff look surprised that you're there. The whole water, menus, cutlery and drinks order process is always amiss. To have authentic French cuisine so close to my house means I'll continue to visit but I just wish the service was better. Also, earlier opening hours would be super.

I imagine the reason why something like this has survived and thrived in an unlikely area is or was because of food and service. About 5 years ago this place was fantastic. Kitsch, unusual and a bit of a boudoir. Now, not so much.

We went half an hour out of our way the other day to come back. It was pretty bad. Front of house had boxes absolutely everywhere, paper work was visible on food preparation and display surfaces, the place seemed dirty. The food was not good. Bread on sandwiches seemed like it had been bought in and was generic, dry and stale. There was no 'real' bread, no passion. Swiss cheese on everything, and $21 for 10 minutes of eating dry bread with zero taste, I mean, you're blatantly taking the... And it took 15 minutes to come out for 2 pre-made sandwiches.

The service was also not great, lady who served us spent more time looking at her phone than looking at us. Witnessed poor hygiene when handling food, not using utensils but her hands, going from the till to her phone to handling money to picking up sandwiches with her hands.

Complacency kills businesses, zero standards

I ate at this Restaurant 4 years ago and was really impressed with food and service. Unfortunately I cannot say the same now. My brother on a visit from Scotland, wanted to treat my wife and I to a meal. My wife ordered Pate, and when it arrived we thought it was to be tasted first, it was tiny, and for the price exorbitant. All portions were minute, no vegetables with any of the mains we ordered. My wife and I had pork belly and my brother the duck (with some vegetables). My brother ordered 1 bottle of French Red plus 1 bottle French white.
I hate to think what the bill came to, but I know it was large.
This is Bonbeach and not a Michelin Star restaurant. Very upsetting.

As brand new locals, this was the first place on our hit list and it did not disappoint! Great quality food and fabulous attentive service from friendly, smiling staff. Very accommodating of our toddler too with a high chair and toys. We will be back - thank you!

It's safe to say that I am a regular here since moving to Bonbeach last December. Lunch, dinner and the regular Sunday morning coffee and gourmet croissants (the fillings are divine). The staff are so welcoming, friendly, attentive and caring. Penny please thank everyone for making my 40th birthday dinner really special last night. Each chef takes pride in every plate or bowl that is served.the flavours you experience are to be thoroughly enjoyed mouthful by mouthful. I started with the French onion soup. OMG. Yum. I'm not a big meat eater however have ordered the beef cheek bourguignon twice. Just the right portion of beef and mash potatoes. Complex sauce cooked over a long period of time that flavours the meat fully and perfectly. Slightly gelatinous this meat really does melt in your mouth. Our side dishes created extra explosions of flavours all complimentary to one another. Then I couldn't wait to try my Apple tartin. It was heavenly. I couldn't recommend The Little French Deli more highly. Thank you again.

Sweet charmer, excuisite food and such excellent service. The head waiter is such a laugh and so hospitable, always a pleasure and delight.

I have dined at the LFD multiple times over the the years.

The service is always amazing and personable. Penny and Chris run an amazing small business with soul, and the food speaks volumes to that; might I add always accompanied with excellent wine pairings.

Steak tartare is a highlight when coupled with escargot. This local gem is a genuine taste of France.

Anyone in the bayside area or just visiting who enjoy French cuisine should definitely add this to their bucket list.

5 stars all round.

Bonus points for dog friendly.just like Paris!

Food is top quality, delicious and to top it off the sublime deserts are a must. One of the best restaurants in the South Eastern Suburbs.

Awesome French Cafe and deli, great ambience and excellent menu. Very enjoyable if you want French experience in this area!
