The Little French Deli reviews
63Utterly delicious with an authentic French influence, bring on flavours, cream butter and garlic and fluffy tasty croissants. The decor suits and the staff is more attentive than at a top end venue. A bit out of the way but definitely worth the trip for a nice brunch.
This lovely bistro is truly a beautiful place to enjoy traditional French food. The breakfast menu is wonderful. Real homemade hollandaise, perfectly cooked eggs, delicious hams and saucissons all served with a smile. Oh and as you would expect, the croissants with butter are excellent.
The deli is separate from the restaurant and has a great range of cheeses, hams, terrines, sandwiches, desserts etc.
They are open on Friday and Saturday nights and I am looking forward to trying out the dinner menu.
How did we miss this gem of a place near us. It’s so hard to get good pastries and croissants nearby unless you drive down till Parkdale.
Lovely little French deli with some yummy pastries
This cafe is the place. Penny and Chris are lovely local legends. Top coffee and amazing French treats and staples. Get along and enjoy the best bayside has to offer.
People told us about this nice French place, so we decided to put an order for a French baguette on our wedding day. Unfortunately we were very disappointed! The bread wasn't French at all. My husband and I know what we are taking about as we are both French. Anyway we could tell the breads were left overs from the previous days. We definitely are not recommand this place!
A friend of ours wished to organize a small group of friends and asked for their Menu. She was told it changes weekly and it is shown in FB. However, as the weekly menu was not to be found and she got no answers whatsoever to her multiple requests via FB (!) - We have all decided to go to another venue. Please note that we used to go to the Little French Deli in the past and on regular basis. We enjoyed eating al fresco in a very casual ambiance. I think it was run/owned by different people. None of us have been in a while so, we wished to go again as we all love French pattisserie and delicacies including charcuterie. I am writing this feedback with best intentions and do hope that whoever runs/owns this Little French Deli has the courtesy to attend simply requests. Thanks a lot!
Overpriced, lacking flavour
We had the 3 course menu.left hungry
Salt and pepper in little packets like McDonalds
No french flair or atmosphere at all
Cannot get enough of the freshly baked croissants and baguettes. Discovered this place during lockdown and have been back nearly every week since. Can’t wait to take the family there for a meal now we are opening up
Ooh la la. Really great little place with yummy delights! Such great service and beautiful food, didn't realise it had such a wonderful area at the back. We'll definitely be back!
Had some French named ham and cheese sandwich.
Rather tasty.
Croissant very tasty.
Good friendly service.
One of the best places for French patisserie: real bread, pain français, croissants, pains au chocolat. And occasionally for cheese, saucisson sec sandwiches and other delicacies. Ordered here probably more than 200 times. Picnic on the beach behind. Very friendly staff. Should you try this place? Oui, oui!
Love this little cafe! Great place with tasty food, lovely coffee and friendly staff. Has made my lockdowns enjoyable getting some croissants to build up at home! Also reasonably priced and decent sized products.
Lovely little French Cafe! Fresh bread, croissants, croque monsieur and great coffees. Serving take away food and coffee during COVID and a great local place for traditional French pastries. Reasonably priced and decent sized portions. Staff were wonderful and very friendly, and high definitely recommend!
They're only able to do take away at the moment but the food is fantastic! If you're going for a walk I highly recommend getting a frozen lemonade.
Gorgeous little restaurant! They went above and beyond for my birthday I can't thank them enough. The food was amazing especially the oxtail!
Love the atmosphere here. French food, Wine cider. How else would ou spend Bastille Day. Not sure where Madame La guillotine was maybe they wheeled her out later. Would definitely go again
Certainly a delight with the amazing food, staff and venue! I would recommend coming here and will definitely be coming back!
I took a Kiwi friend there, I had escargots and they were very tasty. My friend had the charcuterie platter and the rillettes had some orange zest, which was too strong as well as unexpected. The overall is really nice but slightly over-priced considering the quantity/quality.
A nice place for a special occasion. Food, Service are excellent, the venue is relaxing and not overcrowded.
Food was ok but the service was poor. We were ignored and waited for long time to place a order. The guy (looks like the owner?) took order for the other table who went in the shop even after us.
