The Hen House Charcoal Chicken

That roast chicken was terrible, just chopped it for the dogs. Just went out and bought something else for dinner. Wasted $37.00 Not happy!

The tabouli salad was essentially chopped parsley with not much else and no dressing- at almost $10 for a small serve I’m fuming. Schnitzel burger was decent. Uber driver apparently couldn’t find the house so left the order essentially on the street- didn’t call or anything. Disappointing experience overall

This charcoal chicken was the best i’ve had in the area. Employees very talkative and respectful. Loved talking to Molly.

Chicken was so dry. Kids didn’t even eat the potato cakes. Chips had a strange taste from the oil that left a terrible after taste. $50 such a waste. 2 stars as the young girl behind the counter was nice

Love this place. Charcoal chicken, Gyros lamb souvlaki was so yummy and cheap chips are good too.

Ordered tonight after seeing a few comments on fb about how good it was compared to others around the area.
1/2 chicken and chips with gravy.
Chicken was dry and chips were Uncooked hard in the middle with no crispness on the outside.

Had chicken and chips, chicken was to dry had some of there chicken pasta had no taste must have forgot to ad some ingredients it was tasteless yuk won't be back.

Best souvlakis in Carrum Downs, possibly in the South East. The lamb is deliciously seasoned and perfectly cooked on the spit.

They were so lovely and the service I got was fabulous.
The food was great. And very quick aswell which is always a plus.

Usually happy with the service online but I finally decided to talk in and get a gyros pack I asked for 2 lamb packs and came home to find they did all chicken.unsure how you mess that up. Now I cannot eat mine. Disappointed.

Best charcoal chicken in the area.restaurant is very clean and nice customer service must say lamb was very delicious

Ordered 2 mixed souvlakis
1 with no tomato
1 large chips
And 3 nuggets

Souvlakis both came with tomato, meat was horrible lamb was so grizzly and chewy no flavour at all

Chips were disgusting tasted like they had been cooked in really old dirty oil

Food is delicious, especially the lamb.
A bit worried about their approach to covid though, they've got signs up urging customers to use cash and either don't wear masks or only have them under their chins.

Chicken cooked charcoal outside, yet juicy inside. Chips well done. Salads on another level. Do yourself a favour, grab a bite

Beat charcoal chicken in the area and lovely staff. Some of these reviews are just plain weird.

Decent charcoal chicken, staff are mostly friendly but there is one or 2 that can be a bit rude. I regularly buy chicken and chips here and asked once if they do a loaded fries or anything with the quarter chicken and chips as I felt like something other than just gravy or vinegar and found the response a bit rude, not sure if my question was misunderstood as can you just make it for free but they had the chance to make extra from me for stuff they already have so now I just buy my own toppings at IGA and will not ask again.

The food has actually been quite good, especially the souv. However I have since found out that at least the chicken is halal and this is not disclosed to the customer. I can't support cruelty and unfortunately I have eaten the chicken feel horrible for supporting this restaurant and this meat practice. UnAustralian and unethical.

Very poor Got a hsp from hen house last week what a rip off Smallest container of meat and alot of chips for $14 dollars also had chicken for then very over cooked/dry never going back then again thanks

The owners are very nice and know how to treat their customers. The workers are nice and respond well to questions about the menu. The food is constantly good and that is the reason I keep coming back here! They have the best food in the shopping centre!
