A must visit if you are in Bendigo. It's a little outside of the city but for a good reason. The place is quiet and tranquil. The majestic stupa is definitely the centre of attraction but the surrounding gardens are also as beautiful. Inside of the stupa had a prayer hall and dieties and some relics. Overall a great experience.

We really liked it. We found it quite interesting.
Found out about the Stupa via word of mouth.
This may not suit everyone, but we'll be back after the next stage of construction.
The gardens to are a work in progress, and surely be stunning in years to come.
Love and Light.

The Temple itself and its surroundings are certainly beautiful. A must visit place in Bendigo. I do recommend a visit to this place.

The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion is a Buddhist monument near Bendigo in central Victoria, Australia. The basic idea for building the stupa came from Lama Yeshe and then, after Lama Yeshe's death, from Lama Zopa Rinpoche, who decided to model the stupa on the Great Stupa of Gyantse which is 600 years old.

Parking facilities, cafeteria and toilet facilities available.

The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion is a magnificent symbol of peace and spirituality. Its grandeur and design inspire a profound sense of inner peace and connection to something greater. A must-visit for seekers of tranquility.

What an amazing landmark to visit.
Still in its early stages of development but the vision and master plan of the site will bring people from all over the world.

You can have a look around yourself inside the stupa and take pictures if you like or you can have someone to give you guide. There also a library inside the stupa if that interest you. You have to walk through the shop and Cafe to visit the stupa. Lovely place.

Great place to relax. Like all Stupas, it will take 400 years to complete. Well worth a visit each time you are nearby.

What a revelation this is, situated close to Bendigo, surrounded by dry Central Victorian bush. But the beauty and scale of the Stupa transports you to another more peaceful place. The treasures contained within contain their own beauty, too. I'm not religious, but I found the Stupa to be uplifting and enriching. Would highly recommend a visit. We will be back, but for a longer, more meditative visit next time.
(Wouldn't recommend the cafe, though. We waited too long for a simple cup of tea - which never actually came. But we didn't go there for the cafe!)

Saw this Great stupa from TV, wanted visit for a long time.by seeing them with my own eyes, so stunning, they build stuff from nothing, all the depends on the donations.the Guan Yin is my favourite, it’s been a while since i visit a temple.so peaceful.probably a little bit sunny, not a lot of shade, but i would say the visit are definitely worth it.

What a hidden gem. Competes with many Asian highlights without the airfare! Don’t overlook the excellent cafe.

What an amazing time! Hidden gem in Bendigo. Really feels like you’re transported to Tibet. Great day out, their cafe is pretty average, would recommend going somewhere else nicer. The tour guide told us it would be another 10 years until it was structurally completed, and another 60 years to decorate! Guess I’ll be visiting when I’m 80!

My second visit to this beautiful place did not disappoint. Everything about it is a delight, beautiful gardens, pleasant, helpful staff and volunteers, the incredible Stupa, the tearooms, Cafe, and an abundance of nature surrounding the whole place. You cannot leave the Stupa, and not feel more at peace with yourself and the world. It is a treasure.

This place is well meaning and they are always looking for ways to improve which is so absolutely wonderful and kind of them. However, I must say something. Some volunteers who work here can be quite small-minded and racially discriminating which doesn't go well with the "compassionate" sense of this Stupa. There are also some White Australians who visit this temple and they think they know so much about Buddhism that they are top-knotch and better than others and look down on other ethnic Buddhists when in reality they are the unkind and shallow ones. Buddhism is originally from India and is most commonly practised in Asia, Tibet, Srilanka.so many people from these regions have been Buddhists and committed to Buddhism their entire lives, so please don't think that you are superior just because have listened to 2 Dharma talks.

Lovely peaceful building part way through a major decoration project. People there were very friendly and the monk gave a very informative an excellent free tour. Payment is voluntary via donation. The cafe was also very good with a nice choice of cakes and drinks. We enjoyed the rock cake.

It is not fully completed but it is worth a visit especially if you're a Buddhist. It reminded me of Bhutan, can't wait for it come to its full glory, will be back in a few years.

What an incredible, and surreal experience. Just stunning. And the passion of the employees/volunteers is electric and contagious! The prana chai with milk was DELICIOUS!

Lots to learn about other religion.
Really inspiring to see the prayers embedded outside the temple.
Cafe is also fantastic. The ambiance and the silence when having your coffee right outside the the cafe, overlooking the temple is just incomparable.
The only improvement I can say is I hope the renovations in the temple gets finished soon as it takes away the authenticity and the mood inside.

Hidden gem literally out of nowhere, it seems not completed yet, will come back again in few years.
No entrance fee, but u could give some in the donation box.
