The Foundry Hotel Complex reviews
66Meal was very good. I was with a group, they all enjoyed their meals. The choice on offer has improved, very happy with the experience
A little pricey but probably the best food of any pub in Bendigo. Clean environment and staff are relatively attentive.
Went to the bistro for dinner. Service was helpful and friendly the entire visit. Menu has changed slightly since covid times with some tasty additions. No specials menu currently. I ordered lamb souva a new item. For $26 this was great value. On pita bread with loads of lamb, spinach and baby tomatoes with garlic sauce.
Everyone's meals were VERY nice.
Lost our drink order but other than that service was good
In these COVID aware times, The Foundry have nailed it. From booking a table, to distancing diners, and all the while giving great service, a great and very reasonably priced lunch menu, and efficient and friendly staff. The Foundry has got it right.
After recent disappointments with our post lockdown dining experiences. Finally, third time lucky. What a pleasant surprise, I had the lamb and rosemary pie - great flavours, adding a salad would be a great addition to the meal. Others had the wagyu burgers which they found delicious.
Very dissapointed. Bistro closed on a Sunday. Elderly ladies sitting in the sports bar with techno music playing trying to have a meal. Didnt bother staying.
ZINC ROOM
We've come up from Melbourne for a 50th. Food was excellent, bar service, a little slow because of the size of the bar in this room.
Overall location great
I had a delightful experience dining here. I ordered the thai beef salad off the lunch menu and topped it off with a chocolate pudding. Be aware of the wait time for ordering a hot dessert and that it can get really busy around lunch. Otherwise, it is a highly recommended spot to catch up and socialise.
Not impressed. Had run out of a few items on the menu. So didn't actually get what i was after. Food was average at best.
The food was pretty poor. Had chicken wings which seemed to be boiled and wet, lamb ribs were mega fatty and also didn't seem to have any signs of seeing an oven or BBQ. The rest of the group thought their food was disappointing too. Staff were fine and the venue presented ok.
Great food. Great friendly service. I've always enjoyed as each time I've been there and I will definitely be back.
The selection of meals is very limited and unoriginal, the cider selection was also poor though the cost was offensive!
The meal was average, and not worth returning for.
Great food, drink and friendly staff. The lamb ribs were fantastic and the sticky date pudding was Heaven in a cup! Generous serves at a good price!
Went for the 2 course discount lunch and it was by far the best pub/bistro experience I have had in Bendigo recently. Although busy, the staff were polite and diligentwhile the fish and chips we ordered took less than 10 mins despite over 100 or so patrons also eating around the same time. The dessert was okay but because of the excellent all round service we came away fully contented. We will definitely return
While I'm all for giving to the less fortunate, this venue's employed at least one security officer who is unfit to work in the security industry. Sorry but taking personal calls, talking with patrons who are minding their own business, and ejecting that person when challenged for a valid response, and then lounging in the foyer eating do not portray a professional image.
Nice comfortable place to dine with plenty of seats, sports bar all looks done up
The essentials food ok price good staff good and polite. Have dined there a few times so experience it for yourself
Service was shocking apart from bar men and one waiter.food was below average but did look appealing kids meal brang out 20 mins before ours.was not worth the money that's for sure will not be returning.should of gone to the hibo
Food @ the Foundry is pretty good. Wouldn't order a steak here however. For a pub meal, prices are pretty expensive. Table service would be nice & would suit the stylish new area, but i'm just being picky. Overall not a bad experience. Needs more Pokie machines over at Mr Bob's, and less idiot kids on the weekends, but again a nice space for a drink or 9:)
This place has done some things well like the big wall of tv's with all kinds of sports and the booths with your own tv but other things like the price of food and drink is not so good. The food is only of an ok quality. Go to watch the sport but go elsewhere to eat (like the national just down the road, great food there)
