The Dunes Golf Links reviews
41 The Dunes Golf Links & Links Lodge is a golf club and resort located in Rye, Victoria, Australia. Established in 2002, the club is known as one of the best golf courses in the country. Dunes Golf Links features well-maintained fairways, deep bunkers, and more, a championship course featuring fast, undulating greens.
The course is divided into a Links (Out) course and a Dunes (In) course. It is divided into a course that starts on the left side of the clubhouse and goes around the outside of the front and a course that goes around the right side of the clubhouse. There is no interference between holes.doesn't exist.
ㅇCourse status and features
The green is large and curved, typical of a links course, and maintains a high speed of over 3.0. The fairway rough is sparsely filled with long and coarse grass, the bunkers are deep and high, and have a composition that must be avoided with multiple bunkers connected to each other.
The green speed was reasonably fast, around 3.0 meters, and the curves made it difficult to control the distance of downhill putting. The fairway was in good condition and the area around the green was in good condition to allow for optional putting or approach. Of course, it is best to escape the rough with long, tough grass.
Highly recommended for challenging golfers.
We got the 2 bed apartment overseeing the golf course for a night away from Melbourne.
The unit was clean & in top order with decent quality appliances.
The bedrooms were cosy with comfy mattresses & bedding.
The bathroom is spacious with quality skin & hair care products.
Highly recommend especially at their price point.
Booked an accommodation here for a Friday night. Very good and clean accommodation. We got Room 10 with a view to the golf course. You can smell the cleaning product when you first walk in but opening up the balcony window/door does help. Amazing breakfast. Good coffee and hot chocolate. We booked 9-hole golf course and hired golf equipments. Amazing place to stay and play golf
Great challenging golf course on the Mornington Peninsula. All holes shaped and cut into the rolling sandy landscape. Perfect all year round as this course handles all weather conditions.
Best course on the peninsula, lots of great changes happening, you need to get down there and check it out
The dunes golf course was one of the most family friendly and fun golf course. We did the 9 hole course that is perfect for new players. It was a little bit expensive for new golfers, only because they make you buy items that you can use next time you come to play golf. A great experience for all levels of golfers.
Spectacular links golfing facility. Open sprawling courses, challenging layout while being manageable for higher handicappers (although not easy). Greens are dry but pristine and very quick. Worth the travel to play a round
They rushed us all day. For paying good money was ridiculous to be rushed by a marshal on several occasions. We finished within 4.5 hours on a windy day. Wouldn’t recommend based on staff.
WOW Wee! It’s been five years since I last played The Dunes but I’ll be making the trip down to the peninsula more frequently from now on.
The golf course was in superb condition all of the staff were friendly including the course marshal, there is now optional accommodation available on course.
We’ll worth the drive!
Avoid during weekends. Very busy and congested and no course marshal was there to help with the problem. Called the pro shop to report slow play and the lady on the phone was helpless. Not worth the price
The staff are absolutely lovely here! Accomodation I could not fault, clean & Modern, lovely comfortable bed too! Will be back to stay in the near future! Even thinking of gifting a voucher for my brother who loves golf he'd absolutely love it
Beautiful accommodation, modern and clean. Decor is really nice. Close to a few attractions. Highly recommend. Great customer service from Abby. Very friendly. She also brought us a portable cot.
Great customer service, efficient and got our food out quickly. The food was great too! Best chips I’ve had in the past 24 hours.
We stayed at Dunes Links Lodge for one night only and we loved it. We have been greeted by beautiful and kind Abbey. The room was clean, the view from room 5 is beautiful. Great service. Next time we spend more than one night and play golf as well. Thank you Abbey ️
You will love you golfing experience in this course.the staff at the clubhouse were very excellence and warm welcoming us.the course is just about right for mid to low handicap
The food is excellence
thank you The Dunes!
The older tall guy in the proshop said masks are required inside. But the tool wasn't even wearing his properly.
Course is good, too bad we won't be back.
Love the 9-hole Cups course. One of the only dog friendly courses we’ve found, it’s a perfect spot for 9-holes with your dogs on a lead. Great elevation, views and condition. My favourite golf course for its welcoming friendly vibe.
Amazing course, I was working near by and had a few hours up my sleeve waiting for an appointment and thought I could sneak in a quick 9.
I called the front desk got the go ahead and was on the first within 1/2 an hour.
Front 9 was amazing! The blind 5th, 7th and 9th were my fav holes to play, looking forward to getting back and doing 18 in the coming weeks,
Staff and course both get 5 Stars. Thanks for the quick 9 you now have me hooked!
We enjoyed a coffee and banana cake at the restaurant. We would appreciate some walking tracks and local indigenous plantings when we are not playing golf.
This course is second to none for catering to all levels and ages. The main course is beautiful and spectacular to play. It requires strategy and precision. The cups course is great for all levels, probably the best 9 hole course, it is forgiving enough for younger golfers and beginners to enjoy which a range of tee positions. Overall great course and experience
