The Deck Brighton reviews
57 Great food, and friendly staff.
The ambience was great and everyone liked the food, including the children.
Delicious food. We got the breakfast platter and the buttermilk ricotta pancakes. Fantastic serving sizes and good service. Would come back again!
Nice place, service with a smile.
Gluten free and low fodmap is no issue for them.
Would have given 5 stars, but ordered a juice and it didn't turn up. However you could tell however that some of the staff are new, so I can't hold it against them for making a mistake and I would have reminded them but I was under time restraints to get back to work so couldn't stick around and wait once they might have worked out they forgot it.
Anyway, was very happy with this place and will definitely go back the next time I'm up this way.
Had a function in the back room recently. Staff manager was wonderful and trying his very best with the limitations he was experiencing juggling 2 events at the same time. The food in the cafe during the day may be good but the function canapes and platters are appaulling and they are not left out for the guests to enjoy. The food was returned very quickly back to the kitchen and myself, the host, was only offered 3 canapes out of the 12 ordered (of which I never saw). I also had to cut and serve the birthday cake myself as they did not have staff or time to do this. I chose this venue for our birthday functions as it is visually appealling and the ratings showed that it would be fantastic. This was not the experience we had and my guests were not impressed. If you want to have a function here, just order drinks and cake!
Please reconsider how you leave your outdoor bench seats at night, walking past in darkness, the heavy wood legs stuck out at angles caused a nasty shin injury. A tripping hazard, just use common sense or is that too much to ask for Melbourne
Food and service is great! And they have a kids friendly area to keep them occupied. Would definitely consider to hold a party/gathering there next time.
Despite many locals talking this place up. In the words of Shakespeare, ' Much ado about nothing'. The wait staff were as welcoming as a Russian soldier in Kiev.
We were in the front room - the floor is polished concrete, the walls are exposed concrete and brick - the noise level was unbearably loud just from the people talking. It was incredibly difficult to talk, and that's without any music or external sounds being added.by the end of the night my voice was hoarse.the staff were polite and friendly, and the service was good.there didn't seem to be a lot of parking nearby.
I went to a function here last Friday. Snacks were good, bar was fine, venue was ok.except that the acoustics were so bad that with a crowd there it was a constant struggle to hear what anyone was saying. Literally every single person I spoke to complained about the noise, and most people I left with said they had a hoarse voice from shouting, and ringing ears from being shouted at. It always puzzles me why it seems so hard for venues to retrofit some sound dampening properties?
Highly Recommend, I am a regular

Had a work Christmas function, and everyone was really happy with the venue, the food, and the service. Special thanks to Lana and Andres, you both ensured we had a very successful function!
Amazing staff, fantastic food and brilliant coffee. Taylah and Lindsay are so personable and make The Deck a must visit destination.
Held my Sons 21st here in the room at the back. Around 70 people in cocktail style setup. Staff were great, food was tasty and everyone had a good time.
Thanks to the team at The Deck for helping us provide a memorable evening.
Had our sons Christening celebration here. Fantastic function venue, staff, food and atmosphere. Staff went above and beyond with service and manager was extremely helpful. Highly recommend.
Had Breakfast with 5 mates. Great coffee and quality food. Sat outdoor under the heaters, magnificent!
Attended a function here.
Service was extremely slow, nothing was bought out together therefore some people had meals and others nothing. And such a downer the food was horrible.
Nobody on my table finished their mains, and unfortunately 3 of us received raw chicken.
There was no flavour on anything!
Nice coffee. Didn't eat but the food going out looked well presented and the people seemed to be enjoying it.
Attended a function in the back room. The room is large and accommodated 50+ people. The catering was okay. The staff missed our section on occasion. Coffee is good and the sliders were delicious. Quality of food is exceptional.
The cafe is very colour biased. White people get priority before coloured ones. Beware before going in
