The Deck Brighton reviews
57Delicious bao buns, friendly and efficient staff, great atmosphere. Great place to sit and chill with friends. Highly recommend, definitely be back.
We had a fantastic time for our women’s soccer event on Sunday. The staff are lovely and made sure we had a great night! Shout out to Nav, Joseph and Bella behind the bar for being so friendly!
I used to go to The Deck when it first opened, a long, long time ago, it was very dark and moody but now completely different, so light and airy with white walls, light coloured furniture and pops of greenery. Originally we were seated outside but after feeling one side of my face being burnt, because a very sunny day, we came inside. They have lots of seating inside and out on the deck (funny that) and on the street but when multiple people have to move inside its probably time to pull the shades down. We had coffees (flat white and decaf soy latte) while husband had big breakfast and I had avocado smash with side of mushrooms. Avocado came with obligatory poached egg which husband had as I can't stand eggs. $63 which is pretty steep for 2 coffees and 2 breakfasts (includes additional $5 for mushrooms, $1 for soymilk and. 50c for decaf). They also have a large function room out the back which from reviews I've read, seems to be very popular. So yes really nice Cafe, great food and environment but of the 100 I've gone too, definitely one of the priciest.
Great staff, food and venue! We recently had our sons first birthday party in the Ivy Room at The Deck and we were so happy with how everything went. Special mention to the function coordinator Sam Birtwell who went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect. Sam is so professional to deal with and I would do anything for her to plan all my future events! She made the planning stress free and was so quick in responding to any questions I had. Highly highly recommend Sam and The Deck as a venue.
We had my son’s 2nd birthday at The Deck and it was an awesome day. The venue was perfect and spacious, we fit a jumping castle, a ball pit and 60 people in there. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The whole day went really well and we all had heaps of fun. Highly recommend for your next event!
Thanks so much to the team at The Deck for making my daughters 21st such a special night, the service, food and atmosphere was second to none, our guests are still contacting us 2 weeks after the fact, saying how fantastic the night was, I could not recommend this venue and their staff enough, 5 Stars all the way!
I asked for multiple items on the menu and they responded with, “sorry we are out. ” I ordered a milk shake and it tasted horrible. Great way to treat a mother on Mother’s Day huh?
Have stopped by several times for takeaway sandwich or coffee. Arguably the slowest service compared any cafe in Brighton. Staff are apologetic but the service remains to be slow. Problem at managerial level perhaps or poor communication. Lots of room for improvement
Horrible service, with waiters seeing us ready to order but ignoring, and the food was pretty subpar for the price. Also, the waiter who served us never smiled, giving off a “I’d rather be anywhere but here” attitude.
Great place to have a function. Staff is amazing, very friendly, energetic and courteous.
Parking is on the road, so mostly a 2 hour limit apply. The area it self is good and you may even park a little away and walk towards it.
We had a (secondary) wedding celebration here in their private function room. Amazing on all fronts. Staff friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious. To sum up a fabulous venue with the right mix of food and great staff. Thank you.
So so disappointing. This place used to be a great place to take kids but all the kids toys are old, dirty and falling apart. The service was terrible, no knives, forks, no soap in the bathrooms, water spilled everywhere. It’s so hard to believe they have let this place go as you expect more for the money you pay to eat here (and the kids party fees!). Worst of all, the place relies on QR code ordering and the signal in this place is terrible. They really need to pull up their socks.
Service is good.
Good is above average
Ambulance is good.
They still have newspapers which is big plus for me as single dinner.
Go here you will like it.
They don't have porridge over summer which is a disappointment. See you next winter.
Mediterranean salad bowl was delicious. Relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a 2 hour catch up with a friend.
Great place! Food was tasty but the quantity could have been better for the price. Their Belgium hot chocolate is a must try!
If you like a standard breakfast for a standard price in Brighton this is the place to go. The portion sizes are generous and the food is well prepared. However, there is nothing special. All elements were very well done but nothing which combines all of them together.
Fantastic place to eat, have a breakfast. Great stuff, delicious food and coffee. We truly enjoyed it and highly recommended.
Thanks guys
Table service was non-existent and Food was below average.
Waited 10 minutes before coffee order was taken, took 15 minutes to arrive at the table. Another 40 minutes passed before we had to ask if table service was offered or if we go up to the counter - the place wasn't amazingly busy and there were plenty of staff so not too sure what happened here.
I ordered the breakfast board,
The bacon and chorizo were good, no complaints there but the meal fell off very quickly afterwards. Blistered Tomatoes were completely missing, Sautéed Spinach was just drowned and greasy spinach, 'Chilli Relish' was just some Old El Paso salsa in a small ceramic tub, Mushrooms were a little on the greasy side but overall okay, Smashed Avo was alright, the rosti - eh was more akin to an undercooked hashbrown, sourdough tasted stale, hard and flavourless, the poached eggs were next level, I was so excited to burst them and dig into some delicious poached eggs but what happened next was extremely lacklustre, like a wolf in sheep's clothing, I had to saw into what was an extremely overboiled egg that looked like a poached egg, the green/grey yolk was sulphuric in taste and smell
Trendy outdoorish eating and
Meeting location. Easy to get
To, easy parking. Casual atmosphere and food. Good for families, groups and couples
Different.
I had the chilli eggs and it was excellent. Sitting outside with the heater on was good too. Friendly service - about the only suggestion for them is to try and get meals for a table ready at the same time a bit better. Some things get cold quickly and polite people wait for everyone. Apart from that, really good.
