Great coffee shop with delicious housemade dishes. We have the tasty Maroccan salad and super salad with chicken added. That was good, well seasonned, great flavors.

The view of the beach is a beautiful backdrop to the dining experience which overlooks the shore.

The ambience is warm and inviting and chillaxed with soft electronic music in the background at just the right volume.

The seating is is comfortable and spacious and clean. There are a few seats to choose from and it's quite spacious despite the space being on the smaller side.

The courtyard section around the back is beautiful and gorgeous and has a jungle vibe with outdoor heating. It looks really nice.

The service here is so friendly and welcoming and attentive. Greeting everyone who walks in with a warm smile and a welcome greeting. They go above and beyond to make sure your dining experience is perfect. They are skilled at taking certain alterations and changes to coffees and food items.

The food here is simply just incredible. We sat her for breakfast which is available all day. The lunch menu is also available all day. The menu is simple and has a wide variety of common breakfast items to choose from. I made a dish out of a selection of sides with mushrooms and eggs and spinach and hash browns and tomatoes. Everything was so delicious and fresh and beautifully presented on the plate.

The mushrooms are cooked to absolute perfection with the perfect seasoning and freshness. The mushrooms were certainly a standout element of the food.

The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked and fluffy and fresh and well seasoned. Just divine! The toasted bread is so delicious and perfectly crispy on the charred edges while soft and tender on the inside.

The drinks were also fresh and delicious and a lot of attention and skill is put into making the drinks. The orange juice is made fresh which is awesome! The coffee was hot and delicious and perfectly made! I loved the coffee quite so much!
The hot chocolate was also delicious!

Overall I cannot fault this place for a single thing. Me and my companions had such a great experience here. The food is delicious and fresh and flavourful and the service is so welcoming a friendly. We will definitely be back and you should surely give this place a visit!

The chilli scrambled eggs is really yum. The cafe has plenty of seating upstairs and down, as well as a semi indoor courtyard with heaters. Amazing view of the bay, particularly from upstairs.
Food and coffee is all delicious, have been here multiple times and will likely go back a lot more! The servers are also really efficient and extremely friendly.

Very disappointing Easter breakfast. The coffee, the milk tasted funny and was cold. I asked for extra ginger still couldn't taste it in my juice. The meal was well presented, tasty, however cold. Warm plates perhaps in winter?
No atmosphere despite the view. Reviews don't always show reality. Hospitality is an art and ratings are earned.

Just dropped in here for a coffee they have papers so I had 2 and almond croissant.
Coffee is very good. Croissant ok.
But go for the coffee and the food is more than acceptable.

Very good service especially from the two young girls Chloe and Ruby. Very sweet kids. Will definitely go back because of them. Food was also amazing.

Just had the most AMAZING Moroccan Lamb Salad and Lactose Free Chai Latte! Highly recommend this place for a yummy and reasonably priced lunch!

Hired the whole place for my daughter's 21st birthday and the staff were amazing, and so was the finger food! We had an amazing night and everything ran perfectly thanks to Nathan and his team!

The best breakfast, lunch, and brunch.in Melbourne beach-suburbs. Amazing food, thoughtfully put together in a harmony of flavors and textures. I love the moroccan lamb salad with the surprise chickpeas crunch, medley of sprouted vegetables, turmeric cauliflowers, lightly pickled vegetables, it was just phenomenal. The ricotta hotcakes is such a humble name for this amazing stacks of gastronomic delight! Definitely coming back here again! And again.

Bruschetta was delicious! Amazing food and reasonably cheap compared to other brunch places. Lots of options on the menu, including all day breakfast and lunch. Also lots of juices and coffee to choose from. Staffs were friendly. Heaps of space available for sitting. Located right beside the beach. Free street parking available. We've got 2 dishes and a coffee for less than 40$. No surcharge for weekends. Would definitely come back!

The service was nice but it was a pretty average food experience.

I’ve order through there Uber app and the breakfast board shows a bowl and toast with egg and OJ, I received my toast and eggs with little mushrooms and less then half a cup of Granola when the pic shows a bowl and didn’t get my OJ.

Service was a bit slow, not sure if it was due to walk in-takeaway and Uber eats orders getting priority, but had to get menus ourselves and almost gave up waiting for food to arrive after ordering. Food was decent so will give them that.

Food options to accomodate everyone

For a picky Vegetarian, flavours are really important. The Corn Fritter was a flavourful mix of some spices; the Salad was fresh, tasty and aromatic; Scrambled Eggs were just rightThe ️ was perfectly done per request

A nice place on Beach road with views of the bay. Service was fast, friendly and the staff were very helpful. I ordered a large flat white coffee, it was excellent and the Smashed Avo with Chorizo (pictured). The meal was better than my expectations and excellent value for the price, it was tasty and very had good proportions. I would definitely recommend The Colonel's Son for their all day breakfast or lunch.

Staff are absolutely lovely and food is delicious. Coffee is the best in Black Rock, never had such a nice breakfast will be back again soon! The corn fritters are delicious and so filling.

Visit this cafe on our way to black rock beach. Spacious clean cafe, average coffee and food. The bruschetta is good but the corn fritter have very strong flavour of certain spices, not to our liking. We have to force ourselves to finish it. Will come back to try other food.
