The Cerberus Beach House reviews
81Perfect summer evening spent here as a cool breeze passes thru and the view just gets better with the sun setting.
I could say the best fish and chips in Melbourne. The price is reasonable and the oil they fried in it was very fresh.
We dined in upstairs and although the atmosphere was nice including the view and the friendly staff unfortunately there was nothing else that was nice about this place. It was a 30 degree day and the restaurant upstairs was packed. No air con or fans were operating which made it feel like a sauna. We felt like we were going to pass out. We had fish and chips and it was the most expensive fish and chips we had for what we got. One piece of grilled fish a hand full of chips and some lettuce leaves. The food was very average and definitely not worth the money you pay. FYI its $34 for a plate if fish and chips. Also if your planning in going with a baby and a pram please dont unless you want to carry your pram up and down the stairs as there is no other way up or down.
The staff are thoughtful, friendly and go above and beyond to try and accommodate customer requests. The food took a long time to serve but the quality of the food was great.
A nice place by the water to have fresh sea foods, window tables in the second floor add on more! You can walk alongside of the rocks around the restaurant.
Very oily and the fish didn't taste fresh. Calamari too chewy to eat. We fed most of it to the birds
We ordered in the takeaway section, not the restaurant. Maybe the restaurant is better.
Dining upstairs view & location lovely. Unfortunately overpriced & food average. Portion sizes very small. Dining in a group of 20+ so most things on the menu ordered. Service friendly but slow. Parking also a challenge & expensive. All round didn't live up to expectations, group consensus disappointing.
CLEAN YOUR TOILETS and bathroom! So unbelievably grimy.
Also change your oil! $34 for fish and chips with old brown batter. NO.
To add insult, just walked past people eating from the take away with fresh golden crispy batter.
The latte was good. We ordered chips and fried pineapple too, both are crispy and taste very satisfactory.
Tried calling several time to place an order but was met with a busy phone line for over 10 minutes. We intended to pay On Card. As we had the order in our hands we were met with a rude gesture towards the cash only sign. Apparently there is card facilities available in the upstairs restaurant in which we had to be wearing shoes and shirts… At a beach.
Despite having to walk back and forth to get a cash the food was okay
The two stars are for the view. Overrated for the food. I couldn’t help but feel disappointed when upon ordering we were told our dirty? Cutlery would not be replaced after asking for entrees & mains to come together? The steak was utterly over cooked even burnt although the waitress tried to sell the charcoaled aspect of it. Being offered to replace for another dish was appreciated but I wasn’t sure whether I’d have to pay for it? ! Not sure if a 3rd visit is worthy, not enough wow, aside from that view.
Some of the best fish and chips in Melbourne at one of the best venues. Sitting by the bay on the beach eating fish and chips is so perfect. If you prefer there is an upstairs dine in restaurant with fabulous balcony views.
Really delicious, we just had takeaway and stayed by the water as the restaurant is upstairs. Worth a trip!
The location is 5 star. Parking is surprisingly costly. Staff v good. Food good. Overall enjoyable
I ordered the Morton bay bugs for dinner, but only one came out, when I asked the waitress she said the dish had been changed to one since I ordered. You could see where the 's' had been wiped off the board. Only an apology was offered.
Burgers are legit
didn’t want something big so ordered the kids burger, pretty much a large cheesy and it was amazing!
soft bun, cheese, ketchup and tender beef patty
$4 for a 1/2 hot chips to make it a “combo”
great place for a feed for lunch when you’re at the beach
highly recommend
Had not known of this place until I was taken there despite being a Bayside resident. I was really surprised at the menue plus the great service. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the dishes served. I will return.
Another stunning evening of fantastic food, lovely attentive service, and wonderful views at this gorgeous fave.
Amazing food and service, and beautiful views overlooking the ocean from the window tables. Highly recommended.
It's on 2nd floor, no lift (prepare to walk-up). The menu is worth the value, seafood is yummy and good cook during our visit (Surprisingly they have Japanese rice too). Fish & chips canteen is popular downstairs, you won't disappointed when you are visiting.
