The Butterfly Club reviews
54If you're after a place with character that's not your average "trendy" bar, then the Butterfly Club may just be it. Everyone is welcome here, particularly across the gender spectrum. The decor is like a cosy loungeroom with trinkets and memorabilia galore. The small bar stocks the staples and does some delicious cocktails. It's tucked away at the end of a short lane off Little Collins St and worth checking out.
Funky venue in a sketchy looking laneway. Bar service was great. Theatre was small, took me a while to work out the clacking was from a keyboard. Lots of stairs.
Every night there is something worth watching on at this theatre. Cocktails are solid, staff is great, decor is unparalleled.
Highly recommend for pre-drinks on a date. Great vibes, funny performances, eclectic venue all around great atmosphere. I look forward to come here in the future for more events
Went to see Drama School here and it was phenomenal. Whoever plays Vince was incredible. Generational talent.
I attended a free preview of Sammy J's material before the 2022 comedy festival started. We enjoyed a lemon, lime and bitters at the bar beforehand, I thought the bartender hadn't charged enough but it was happy hour! An excellent venue, with colourful, interesting objects/artefacts/artworks on display. Would like to go here again. The staff were most welcoming.
Melbourne's best small venue! Great theatre spaces, good bar, some of the best staff in the city!
Small bar and theatre. Very well presented and friendly atmosphere. Staff were fantastic.
My wife loved the cocktails they were serving
Amazing venue, staff are always incredible. An incredibly diverse and welcoming, safe space for all patrons. I love the Butterfly Club
What a fabulous place! When staying.in Melbourne for a few nights, we wanted to go to places we hadn't been before. We booked in to see 'The big hoo haa'! It was such great fun. We will be back!
We saw 'the Witching Hour' and had a great time; the theatre was warm and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful which contributed to the show.
Attended the Big Hoo Haa. Was the first time for us and we didn't know what to expect.
We had a wonderful evening and will be back again.
The venue is a little interesting too, with a vast assortment of items decorating the place.
Thanks for a great evening.
Lovely club, great spot to watch some quality theatre and grab a few drinks with the stars of the show after. Would definitely like to see the place a bit more well organised and comfortable to move around in.
Unique place staff amazing they enjoy their job and want to be there.the bar and food delishious. The production was hilarious. What a great gem should be on the things to do list. Amazing place I cannot wait to return

Great venue, good shows, lovely staff and a wonderful atmosphere. I live the decor, particularly the rubber duckies scattered around.
Went to watch Anna Piper Scott for comedy fest and was a spectacular experience. Amazing venue, brilliant staff, gorgeously kitschy, queer friendly & very clean. Nothing to fault, but a whole lot to enjoy.
Couldn't recommend more if the above is your vibe.
What a quirky, lovely place inside.awesome collections!
always enjoyed the performances
on Fridays.no swearing pls.
Cute, quaint, and small club.
Toilets are few in number and quite run down, with broken taps that don't turn off properly. Needs a bit of work.
The bar area is full of interesting artistic decor, that works as a good conversation prompter.
Could REALLY do with a coffee option. Not everyone drinks alcohol and the shows are at night.
The performance rooms are a good size for the average small show.
Really enjoyed trying this, we've never been to improv before and this is a great little quirky place. The show was very funny and interactive. I learnt pterodactyl doesn't start with a T. Lol. Drinks on the expensive side I thought.
