Aidan and martine were fantastic, couldnt believe the service they provided, felt like I was at home and they made me special drinks that I could not imagine ever tasting

It was a fantastic Saturday night dinner. The pork belly was amazing and I was surprised by the variety of drinks. Definitely recommend the Pimm’s punchbowl!

The most amazing day of my life! We had a cocktail style wedding at this venue and it was absolutely out of this world. The venue is lush, green and magical, it provided the perfect backdrop for our ceremony. The reception had a great layout and the staff were amazing. The venue manager, Luke, made the wedding so amazing. He was organised, efficient and so professional. No request was too big for Luke!
The cuisine was absolutely delish and all my guests commented how they’re returning to BMH for dinner just to re experience the food.

If you’re looking for either an elegant sit down wedding, or a fun cocktail wedding (like we had) then this is the place for you! My wedding would not have been as spectacular had it not been for Luke and BMH.

We celebrated our daughter's 18th birthday, a small gathering of her closest friends and family. Luke made the entier event booking and planning process a breeze and injected fun and good humor into it. The night went off to perfection, staff were attentive and professional. The food was delicious and there were enough options to cater for every taste and dietary restriction we had. A wristband system made it easy to keep the underaged guests from tricking bar staff. We had exclusive use of the Jungle room for a lovely cocktail function. The space is well ventilated, private enough and bright. We loved the plants in the room which could use a little more love to retain the jungle feel. The venue is easy to access. I would definitely come back here for a funcition.

We had our wedding here in November and it was perfect.
We wanted somewhere that was going to make the experience relaxing and easy and honestly, the Mess Hall - and particularly Luke Shann - could not have been better.
Our wedding was the first out of the most recent lockdown, so we met with Luke just after we re-opened and a couple of weeks before the date and he made everything a breeze and so much fun!
The food, the house wine and the beer were all GREAT. The venue was beautiful (we didn't have to do a thing) and the vibe was like one giant party.
All of the staff were amazing on the night, and Luke was there keeping an eye on everything (and topping up our glasses!).

Luke is THE ultimate wedding fairy and must be protected at all costs! These days it's so rare that an event turns out even better than imagined - but our wedding celebration is something we will cherish forever thanks to Luke and the Brunswick Mess Hall team. After chatting to so many venues, going with BMH is one of THE BEST decisions we made. Through the highs and lows of many lockdowns, and with this being cancelled once before, it was amazing how Luke and his team pulled out all the stops to ensure that everything stayed as true as possible to our ideal plans. They took care of EVERYTHING and really, really considered our needs. The evening flowed super smoothly, the guests loved the food, service was great and all we had to do was just rock up and enjoy ourselves. We couldn't be more grateful. Highly highly recommend this venue.

Cheap and fun. The $35 banquet is good value. Thai food is not THE best but it's plenty spicy and some faithful flavours going on. The cocktail menu is more fun than serious. Their little bar next door is also cheap and cheerful.

Great spot for a casual catch up and drinks. The food was good but not great. The pork belly definitely needed a bit more attention. Have to be careful with overcooking as it’s twice cooked. Would still come back:)

Such a wonderful wedding at this glorious venue! Luke was the ultimate professional and accommodated everyone's needs and wishes, helping create one hellishly fun party! The dance floor was carved up by friends and family and many said the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding.

Lovely venue (apart from the fake greenery) and nice staff. But all the rest is average - beer is 4 Pines dominated, wine wasn't great, food was forgettable.

I really liked this place. The high ceiling makes the atmosphere. The food servings were ample and the food is wholesome and tasty. Would be good to see more plant based options on the menu.

The food is pretty good here and it's a beautiful building but the service is consistently poor. The wait staff are unfriendly and the timing of meals arriving is a lottery. We ordered two mains (to share) and had eaten one and waited another 15 min before the second one arrived, by which time we were ready to leave. The waitress shrugged and said that's just the way it is.
They're still taking orders via the app only, long after it has become unnecessary and many others have restarted full table service or even ordering at the bar.
We have tried this place a few times now in case we were unlucky. Nope, they're consistently unfriendly.
We won't be going back.

Very mediocre experience. Food was below average and not fresh - pretty sure my coconut rice was microwaved. Cocktail filled to the brim with ice. Disappointed as I did love this place once upon a time.

We had our wedding at the BMH in May 2021 (with around 160 guests). The venue is absolutely gorgeous, total party vibe and perfect for photos. Our guests said 'best food' they've had at a wedding and plentiful. Luke from the BMH is amazing, accommodated all our requests and managed the day and all our suppliers seamlessly. Luke anticipated everything we needed and we love all the finishing touches he made to the venue for our big dance. Beyond thrilled we get to celebrate our anniversaries there as well, as it's a fab restaurant and bar when they're not hosting weddings & other parties. Best venue in Brunswick.

Excellent staff, excellent atmosphere.

Excellent pad thai and seared tuna. Tasty massamun. Green curry meat was delicious but the curry was too runny.

Mocktails were not tasty at all, tried them both. The orgeat really ruined the flavours. The feelings were mutual across the 5 of us that were there.

Thinking of getting married? I couldn't recommend BMH as a venue more, not just because of the gorgeous place itself or the delicious food, but also because of their FABULOUS functions coordinator, Luke, who was an absolute delight to deal with.

Having a COVID affected wedding was hard, but throughout the whole process of can we? , can't we? , no we can't! And finally WE CAN, Luke was there to listen to me whine, answer my questions and make sure my husband and I had our DREAM WEDDING. Luke made an otherwise incredibly stressful time one that I can look back at fondly knowing that despite a few false starts, we still got to have the day we wanted (including doggo ring bearers).

We have had nothing but rave reviews from all our guests about the food and service. Friends have even tagged their photos as #pinterestwedding which is a testament to the beautiful venue and decor. If you don't believe me, see the photo attached from our photographer, Sarah Matler.

The perfect wedding spot. Luke made everything so easy in the planning of our wedding and his team made sure they took care of us and all of our guests on the day. Beautiful venue: tick. Amazing food: tick. Bar staff wanting everyone to have a good time: tick. If it didn't require a divorce, I'd get married here again!

We recently held our ceremony and reception at Brunswick Mess Hall and we could not talk more highly of the staff, venue, food, drinks, cost, décor.everything was amazing.
Special shout out to Luke the Function Manager who is a complete professional, an all round great person, and he made the day run smoothly (and that my husband and I were never without a glass in our hand!) His traits flow down to all the staff who work there- they are the best! Everyone who came had an absolute blast. Thanks Luke and the whole team at BMH for such an amazing day/night.
