The Artisan's Bottega reviews
27Poor knowledge and service and limited brewing stock. A much better store exists a short ride down the Williamstown/Werribee line.
Stefano is a polite, efficient and outstanding employee. My husband and I have been shopping at Artisan's Bottega for years and have always received fantastic service from knowledgable staff.
I was in the store today (Valentine's Day), with two other customers. Stefano was on the phone taking a lengthy order from my husband. Following the call, Stefano asked if he could quickly serve a customer who was ready with their items. Sure I said. The other customer was irritated with Stefano for having to wait so long and made it known in a rude manner and walked out. It's not cool paying out on retail staff when they're doing their best in a busy environment.
About as good as retail gets - excellent range fair prices and above all expert no BS advice. Katie's passion for salumi is contagious and she could not have been more helpful. Wish more businesses were like this.
My go to for all things beer related. Super helpful with amazing suggestions. If you're a novice brewer this is the place to go!
It was Sunday afternoon when I realised that I had lost the nut that I needed to use my sausage/salami piper. I rang Stefano in desperate need of help. He was just about to leave but he didn't leave me in the lurch. Not only did send the part to me in an Uber but he didn't charge me a brass razoo. He genuinely cared about helping me. I made 70kg of salami that day, without him it would have been a complete disaster. I have found all the staff here to be exemplary in my dealings with them. Katie provided me with a contact to buy salami pork, which again was something that was of no benefit to her but done purely to be helpful. All my other experiences here have been great as I have always felt the staff are just friendly and helpful.
Very friendly, encouraging and helpful staff who have great knowledge in the many forms of home brewing. For beer brewing they don't have all the specialty hops etc but they do have a good selection of main ingredients (including milled/unmilled grain) and equipment.
