The Albion Kyneton

Had a wonderful Brunch at the Albion, with their steak special for lunch, the delicious calamari as a starter and a Guinness beer on tap to top it off. Very friendly staff and top notch service. Definitely recommend if you are visiting Kyneton.

From the moment we entered the pub, we were greeted with a smile. We sat in the front lounge bar and the staff were wonderful. Beth was an absolute pleasure, personable, efficient and very polite.

The calamari was the best I’ve had for years and the barramundi was crispy skinned and brilliant.

And if you’re dining there, you must have the hand cut chips, delicious!

Well done Tim and team. We look forward to our next meal at The Albion!

First time visiting the newly owned Albion Hotel. Knowing of the chefs previous experience in a highly reputable hotel I ordered the Rost Biff and it was amazing. Cooked exactly the way I ordered it (if you ask for rare it will be rare), restaurant quality. The young staff were attentive and polite. Sticky Date pudding is a must.

I phoned to make a reservation. I wasn't told we were to be seated by the front door in the bar area and would have no table service. My friend wanted to leave, but I felt that would be rude. We shared a garlic bread which was good, but we each ordered the pork schnitzel with caper butter, and that was not good. It was actually burnt to very dark brown/black on the outside, and hard and overcooked on the inside. It came with slaw - red cabbage with a little mayonnaise. We ordered a side of chips which was ok. We ordered sticky date and lime and berry cheesecake for desert. The sticky date was ok, but the cheesecake came deconstructed as 3 tiny quinelles on a little crumb with 3 blueberries and a slice of strawberry. A bit ordinary. One of the bar staff came and asked how our food was. When I told her the pork was burnt, she disappeared, and no one came near us again.

It's so refreshing to eat out at a pub and have so many gluten and dairy free options so our whole family can share an array of entrees all gluten free but just as delicious as the non allergy versions. Steaks were fantastic too.

Tim and Lauren have a great pub. Was worth the trip from Melbourne. All 4 of us had steak for lunch and they were all perfect.
The special scallop dish had amazing flavour too.

Great old historic pub with awesome food. Had the beef burger and chips, as fresh as can be and full of flavour. Was served by the owner Tim and another young girl who were very friendly and accomodating. Definitely worth a visit

I hope this is a once off. The kale and quinoa burger bun was very mushy and tasted a bit under baked (tasted more like half baked damper) kinda didn’t expect this since the chef here has a good rep. The cauliflower steak was decent tho.

Its great to have the Albion back in action! I can highly recommend the meals and the fantastic service.

Service! What service. I dropped in for a drink and to check out the menu for a pre dinner drink. The bar staff were too busy fluffing around and I had to wait some time for to get a drink. I ordered a beer and the waitress looked confused. She then walked off and did something else, came back to me and re took my order which she badly poured with about a one inch head!
My partner then joined me and after sitting for ten minutes waiting to order, we walked out in disgust and went to the RSL across the road. If this is an indication of the service I definitely won’t be back!

Cosy place to come on a cold, wet and rainy day. Was able to venture here for lunch over a weekend and was lucky to be seated right next to the fire - so cosy! Ordered the lamb and veggies with potato mash and enjoyed the veggies/gravy more than the sausages. Would've preferred if they were lamb shanks instead of in sausage form. Service was a little slow- took us a while to have our orders taken. We had to hail down one of the waiters from a far. Nice place to come and sit for a drink and some typical pub food.

Sunday lunch. Extra bust and extremely noisy. Food pretty good, but lady in charge unfriendly and take it or leave it attitude. They were flat out bust, so we ate our meal and left for coffee and chat at another cafe.

Cosy, warm renovated pub staffed by engaging people that offer delightful food and chilled beers and wines. The wines were especially pleasant.

Friendly atmosphere, cosy and nice dishes We went just for the seafood dishes but they only serve one dish. Internet menu is old and is not what current menu serves. Really needs updating. Otherwise good service.

My partner and I were visiting Kyneton for the day and we dropped in to this place for a quick bite and a drink. When we walked in we were greeted by a gorgeous pup called Maggie and her owner, Annie. Our experience here was so beautiful, we went from a quick drink to spending almost 3 hours here playing with the puppy and chatting with Annie and some of the locals. Such nice people and very generous servings of food! We got the wedges and chicken parma. Recommend to owner staying in or passing through Kyneton. Thank you for your gorgeous hospitality Annie. We’ll be back again ️

Excellent service here, everyone really friendly and one lady pretty funny too. Food exceeded my expectations. Staff were able to accommodate special orders - very professional and so friendly! I’ll keep coming back.

The place has a cosy and quintessential Aussie hotel/pub feel with an eclectic mix of furniture and decorations. A great backyard for beer sessions on a nice day too. The food was served fresh and piping hot with a friendly service. Pleasantly surprised with the hearty and generous size of serving as shown by photos attached. Will go again to try a good variety of lunch and dinner options. 5 stars for us!
