Quite possibly one of the best meals I have had the pleasure of eating in my entire life. Chips were fresh and the seasoning was just right. Do yourself the honour and try the chicken yourself.

I think the chickens taste better than the 2 major chicken outlets. This place roasts the chickens in full view and gives you ones straight off the spit. Reasonable prices, good selection of salads.

Rude and disgusting staff, serving food with runny nose and had boogers in my plastic bag. Literally threw the food. Yuck, unhygienic would be cautious while ordering food from here.

One of the best charcoal chicken places in Melbourne. Consistently tastes good. You can tell they flavour their chickens differently to order places. The chips also deviate from the standard chicken salt with a red mix. Greek salad was also on point. There's no seating so it's takeaway only.

Every time we've ordered from here the chicken has been extremely well cooked. Juicy, never dry. They always overload on the chips as well which is great. The family combo they offer is great value. Highly recommend.

AWESOME chicken and chips, tasty, juicy and well seasoned. GENEROUS portions too. Worth the journey if you live around a 5km radius from the shop when you can't be bothered cooking or have a craving for chicken or chips or both.

Called ahead to place an order on Friday night and the shop was PACKED when we got there. The staff are friendly and efficient. A perfect “no frills” charcoal chicken and chips.

I travel all over Melbourne for work and this one's the best chicken in town bar none. It's a old family business and the dedication to a great take away meal really shows.the birds are spiced with a special Greek influenced lemon/rosemary/oregano/sage? Blend and if you are there in the shop when the owner sprinkles the magic it's an extra special moment. Chips are of a consistently high standard and we always go for the Greek Salad as that is also a reliable and perfect accompaniment. We live in Coburg and Tasty Rooster is always busy (on a Friday at peak time expect a line out the door) and has become a local landmark really.
