Tasty House reviews
48Food is delicious and comes out quick. Portions are decently sized. Staff were very nice and attentive. We had two kids and they brought kids cutlery out without prompt.
Pretty large portion for the rice & one type of meat (only $12.9). Their BBQ pork ran out around 6pm on a Tuesday night so I assume it was good? Their roast duck wasn't bad either. Laksa was a bit heavy.
Curry laksa roast pork noodle Recommended by friend - tasty soup, noodle is fresh however
Pepper salt quail is overly salted.
Delicious and fast order and brought out the dishes and fast take away order as well. Excellent customer service.
Tasty food and incredibly friendly staff!
However, we had two plates that were incorrectly washed and so had food residue on them.
CASUAL CANTONESE
decent food and fast service. Located just opposite Forest Hill shopping centre.
People with mobility issues will be OK here- all one level (including bathroom).
I ordered chicken fried rice by phone and collet it. I asked 2 times from the lady in front desk” is it chicken fried rice “? She says yes.
And when I come home it was duck.
We don’t like duck. My kids don’t eat ducks and it’s too far to return the food.
Communication is very bad.
We often frequent this place when renting at Vermont South. Now that we live far away from Forest Hill, we had not eaten here for a long time and partly also due to Covid lockdown. Our first recent Sunday lunch affirmed the quality and service has been maintained. Food is tasty and dishes are whipped up quickly. Pricewise, the bill for a family of four is reasonable.
Ate there pretty much every week or so for like two years, never had a bad meal ever and the staff were always friendly to me. Prices are very reasonable, family owned so I always liked saying hello to the owners. Lovely place.
Beautiful Southern Chinese offering. Fast service but not fast food, ideal for quick lunches. Visited for dinner with the family, was impressed by the speed and quality. Reasonably priced too. If you're looking for a casual dining experience and want a little bit of ambience, they run a restaurant two doors away.
Always quick service that is super fresh from the wok. Great selection of Chinese food to share or for individual serves.
Quality & variety of seafood freshness in the Sha Hor Fun was welcoming although the thickness of the squid pieces was found wanting as they were paper thin; the Hor Fun itself was well fried & caramelised & tasted good; the pickled green chilli condiment that normally accompany gravy ShaHorFun was unavailable or supplied as a matter of course; the portion of pig intestine dish was small & some of the intestine pieces were salty; quantity size of the rest of the dishes were also less than average.
Really unassuming but OMG the food is great and authentic. I am not one who generally likes fried rice but this place had the best rice I have tasted in a long time. FYI - the rice is my bench mark of how good a Chinese place is and this little store passed with flying colours.
Had Char Siu pork there last night it was dry and tasteless. Very disappointed for a place that's supposed to specialise in BBQ.
Good food at reasonable price, friendly staff and friendlier owners. What more can you ask for. Well done.
This noisy, bustling eating house it's great for the various noodle & rice dishes it offers together with roast duck, pork & Char Siew. It is not a "restaurant" per se, but more like the small eating places in Hong Kong that specialises in a couple of dishes, although Tasty House is larger in size to those. We like to go for "quickies" like their roast duck & egg noodle dish which is very generous in the serving of succulent roast duck.
The resturant has a tradiontionaI east asian look with the hung ducks at tge front. It was clean a busy for thursday lunch. I had the nasi goreng with a spring onion pancakes both were well priced an very tasty.
I will definitely be back
Food was really good. The roasted pork was excellent-crispy skin and juicy meat. Boss is also very friendly.
Benny is my favourite boy, besides from that. The price of the food is very reasonable, they sell soya chicken, roast duck and roast pork, they're all very good buys, i think that their noodles are their star dishes but i prefer the rice, such as Thai fried rice. They have free tea which always a plus, they speak Cantonese and English and their high school waiter is very efficient. A great restaurant to eat at.
Cheap good eats. Reasonable prices for simple and decent Chinese meal. Consistency quality and prompt service
