Taste of Taj Sweets and Indian Cuisine reviews
86Bad experience! The girl at the counter seems not at all interested in serving the customers yesterday it happened I go to this restaurant from last 9 yr but not anymore I will go very rude staff no respect at all food was also rubbish
Food is gud but servuce is not good. Every other day they don’t answer phone calls because phone is on silent mode. Not sure if staff does that on purpose or by mistake.
Please don't say it as chicken biryani! Never seen capcisum in a chicken biryani. It had more red and green bell pepper than chicken in it. Horrible taste. Please either change the name of the dish or the dish itself.
Food thoda good wa but service eni slow Kal v asi order kita c 20 mins kahhe Te othe aw k 25 mins Hor wait krni pai and ajj v order kita c staff ne order e ni poora Likhya and half hour baad pick krn aye Te 20 mins Hor laate please improve this thing for food it’s 5 star. But for service 0
First I thought, restaurant should maintain some cleanliness and hygine at least for tables but after getting food, I found it perfectly matches with the quality of food and service.
Thing which surprises me is that when you have all the resources to do better and make good, some restaurants performs at average level and Taste of Taj is at that level.
I have food from them only a couple of times in last few years coz of that.
The thinnest LACCHA PARANTHA you can get in Melbourne is at them. It's not a rip off but bringing bad name to actual original layered Indian bread.
Kitchen staff needs training particular the tandoor chef as pic available to review show the product of absolute cost cutting measures which is not cool.
Highly Recommended to update the training of KITCHEN STAFF
Amazing Indian food. Taste of Taj have the best quality and tasty food. Indian sweets are of another level. Staff is super friendly.
I have been waiting for more than 20 min for entree and its was just 2 samosa and I asked tissue for the waitress she just looked like angry face.we understand it was busy but how can 2 front staff can handle housefull table?
Great food asked for mushroom had non recommend the cheese tasted great took along time to come but worth it the glass desperately needs cleaning might be mold growing there
Wish I had zero stars to give to this restaurant. We visited this place on Wednesday last week and were disgusted by the horrible service. Normally, their food is tasty and it's our go to restaurant on anyone's birthday and all other occasions. But this time we felt cheated when we complained about the chana bhatura that we had ordered. It wasn't cooked as per the spice level we ordered plus the taste was just bland. No flavors at all. It was so bland that normally we never return a dish but we had to do it with this one as we couldn't swallow it. We calmly let the management know about it but didn't want a replacement as we didn't want to risk it again. To our horror, we were still charged for the dish (without any shame) even after returning it and passing on the genuine feedback. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, RUDE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS OF THE STAFF, ARROGANT TONE AND UNAPOLOGETIC BEHAVIOUR are some of the reasons why we would never return to this restaurant again. We gave them good business all this while. Might just switch to some other restaurant as there are heaps in clayton after this bad experience. Thanks for hosting us anyway.
Hi. We visited the restaurant this evening and we must say that this is the worst service we have ever had in Melbourne. All the Indian and other restaurants around are so cautious about customer service experience that they make sure the customer goes back home happy and satisfied. But this one here the "Taj Hotel" doesn't care about either. We personally went and told them in the middle of our food that chhole bhature is not that great. We had ordered spicy and we got mild which is ok but the taste was plain disgusting and we couldn't just have it. Never had such tasteless chhole ever before. Even after returning the plate of chhole bhature and informing them right there as to how bad it was they still charged us for it without any shame. Upon asking if we had been charged they said yes we did. Clearly it wasn't the best thing to do with regular customers in spite of knowing that they had returned the meal back. Will spread the word as much as I can. Plus the lady was rude to the core. Don't know why they keep such rude folks at work who can't difuse the situation rather ignite it by arrogant gestures and horrible speech.
I just received my order from this restaurant I ordered 2 pao bhaji and 1 shahi paneer with 3 naan. I received just 2 containers one with pao bhaji one with shahi paneer. One is missing. Moreover the taste isn’t good though and the bhaji isn’t mashed, all the vegetables are visible clearly. Naan are soggy and didn’t give any chutney or lemon something with bhaji.
Overall it’s my first and last order from this restaurant. Totally annoying.
Taste of Taj is my wife's and mine one of the favourite restaurant if we ever visit Clayton. The chaat and all vegetarian curries are too good and tastes delicious. Everytime we visited this restaurant, we noticed that the taste has not changed a bit. We have also bought sweets and savouries and they are good as well. The prices are very reasonable too. The waiting staff are also very friendly and the service is quick too. Strongly recommended for anyone visiting Clayton and looking for a Indian restaurant
I don’t claim to know what’s authentic. But my naan was cold and oiley. One would hope that they are made fresh. The two groups who came after me got their food first too. Not too friendly service.
Very quick customer service. We sat down ordered five curries, two different types of naan bread and rice - it got delivered to the table in about 15 minutes. The curries were hot and very delicious. While we did try multiple the butter chicken was by far the best.
I felt they had a limited range of desserts and there was no alcohol and limited variety of drinks but otherwise it was quite good.
The sweets are very tasty and all made onsite.especially the milk cake is top notch.food overall is good too.good value for money I will say.
Food is good. But the serving should be properly organized. We got our kebab/tandoori but waiting for flat bred for long time.
Ordered saffron rice which doesn’t have any saffron, just plain rice with one or two yellow rice! The butter chicken doesn’t relate to anything I have ever tasted before, it’s really poor quality! The staff wasn’t professional too. Not recommended!
The food was poor, I am so disappointed right now. It was an insult to Punjabi food. I FELT, I HAVE BEEN FOOLED. Will never go to this place again. Amritsari naan is suppose to be tandoori crispy buy it was soggy, microwaved and stretchy. I am hating the taste in my mouth.
Free and amazing Lassi. I personally like amritsari naan and cholee. Wait staff needs to smile little bit more. Good place for makki di roti and sarso da saag.
