Taste of Cantonese粤唯鲜 reviews
27Some of the worst Chinese I have had and completely stuffed up my order with not being able to answer the phone in English
I always order lobster every time I come here. The conscientious owner never shows any signs of shortage, and the price is the lowest in Melbourne.highly recommended!
Hot and Sour soup was very good. Mushroom soup was tasteless. Two beef meals had to ask for knifes as too tough to chew and lack of sauce meant only the cornflour taste. Both beef plates came stacked with uncutable Broccoli a very little onion and capsicum. Pork dish was edible but overcooked. Special fried rice was gluggy Not a patch on the cantonese meals prepared by
previous owners when called The Turtle Den.
Food was good. Portions were a bit small for two. Meat was a bit tough on one dish but for the price was good value. Restaurant was a bit cold. We asked for the heat to be turned up but it wasn't.
Otherwise enjoyed the meal.
Like I said to the friendly manager, this was THE BEST Chinese food I've ever had! Sitting at the restaurant now while writing this review, fantastic atmosphere, food hot, fresh, tasty, quality ingredients and cooked to perfection! 10/10!
For someone who loves authentic food, I just don't understand how other people think it's a nice food.
I'm sorry but I can see this place going belly up in the next few months.
The food flavour are all the same! From Mongolian beef to noodles and pork. So disappointing especially if I can cook better than this! The msg and salt are the only flavour that stayed in my tongue. All four meals had the same vegetables onion broccoli and capsicum. I guess they can't afford other fresh ingredients?
Not to mention the very pricey part. 15 dollars for a pot of tea! Phew even 5 star Chinese charges less! 26 dollars for stir fried pork belly that it was all onion and broccoli! The pork pieces were cut so thin like shaved ham!
So sad to see that they have to increase the price but could not delivery a high quality food.
Sadly another Chinese shop that won't last long
Absolutely delicious, best banquet l have ever had. From booking to leaving staff and service were fantastic. It is a must once in your life and will visit again.
Wonderful place to dine and food was delicious and tasty. Customer service was fantastic and it did not take long for the food to come out and when certain items were requested to be removed they listened which was wonderful. Highly recommend coming here.
Very dishonest people. Ordered the lobster dish and it wasn’t a ‘live’ lobster. To make things worst, it was not fresh. Paid nearly $200 for the dish.
We loved the food and worth the price. They have great offers and tried getting one from Groupon.we totally loved the place, food and service too. Awesome!
Terrible service for ubereats drivers, they have no idea of the wait time. If take 10+ minutes, let us know so we can pick up another order.
Good food.nasi goreng was too salty since we had requested to make it a bit spicy - the chef might have put extra soy sauce to make it spicy but it didn’t go well.best is when I mentioned to the staff about it being too salty, he immediately took it back and served us the new nasi goreng with separate chilli oil.good gesture.
Things I disliked: Seafood did not taste very fresh, meal service time is slow, quality of the dishes were average
Things I liked: the vermicelli in scallops & garlic vermicelli was cooked perfectly, complimentary dessert and fruit tasted great
Very ordinary Chinese food.
Nothing special, even the sweet sour pork was missing something.flavour?
Fried rice? Very plain. I give 1 star to Mongolian beef. The spring rolls were tasteless. I think they gave us the vegetarian one rather than the chicken and prawn as we couldn't taste any meat.
The other star I gave was to the serving lady, she was very kind.

Very Disappointing. The Service was slow, took over 30 mins to have our order taken, then another 40 mins for the Duck to appear at the table, and it was NOT worth waiting for. The Prawns were heavily battered and Very Oily, like they were not cooked hot enough, the rice was just, and the plate of veges looked like a frozen TV dinner. However the Cantonese Beef was Very Tender and Tasty, and the Beer was Cold. All for the princely sum of $153. Don't Waste your Time or Money Here.
Prices are ok but lobster was not fresh. Food was overall quite average. Serviced was surprisingly pretty good that night, maybe they've been reading the feedback from customers:)
Had a fantastic time at Taste of Cantonese. Attentive service, staff were very accommodating to our children- getting forks, spoons, water, bowls, extra prawn crackers.lobster noodles and roast duck were a highlight. My husband thought it was the best duck he’d had in years. Very reasonably priced. Would come again.
Food was delicious but waited for long time. There was only one waiter who served almost ten tables in the restaurant.
Lobster with noodles is cheap and delicious. All other dishes taste good as well. Staff are very nice. Definitely will come back.
The prawns in crispy batter were totally tasteless! They used cheap frozen prawns. The "Cantonese beef? " Cubes were also tasteless. The rest were very average.
I won't go back again.
