What an absolute delight to have Tapenade in our area. The atmosphere is cosy and buzzing and our own little bit of France. Kevin and Laurie passionate about their food and service and it shows. I have had some of the best brunches, lunches, coffee's and dinners there. Good selection of wine. The food is creative and delicious, presented beautifully. There is a warmth and joy about the place. Thoroughly recommended.especially the coffee, the crepes. Do try the piscine rose on one of these hot days.

Not really happy that i’m almost 40 and this is the first time i have tried croque monsieur. Coming back soon to try everything else i have been missing out on.

We were invited to a private event held there.
Kevin and his beautiful wife went above and beyond to provide an incredible experience and exceptional food.
I have a raft of dietary requirements and they went out of their way to understand them and ensure my meals were as flavourful and curated as their carefully thought out menu for the rest of the group.
Everything we ate was delicious, and the service felt as though we had been welcomed into their home.
Just a big thank you- we'll definately be back soon!

Complètement délicieux! Truly outstanding fare and finesse. Behind the unassuming street front is wonderful passion of Kev and Laurie bringing their amazing talents to downtown Melbourne. Dare I suggest this is a baby cousin of France Soir? Bravo!

Great service and food at this place. First time visiting and all the food we had was delicious. Coffee is great. They do amazing pastries, crepes and desserts. Keen to go back again soon.

Gorgeous little place tucked away along commercial Rd. We got salade nicoise with the most perfectly seared tuna steak, beautiful sesame dressing. We also had a baked brie which became essentially brie fondue it was so deliciously gooey and melty.

The staff were lovely and I very much enjoyed hearing where everything came from and the intentionality and sustainability from local sourcing of ingredients.

The fellow who served us also managed to make really authentic sour without alcohol (as I can't drink)

A random stop for coffee turned into a welcomed lunch and refreshing customer service experience. I am not surprised that they are rated so highly. The atmosphere is warm, friendly and their joy and energy is evident in the team, which they openly shared with their clientele, and food made with love and kindness always tastes amazing. A rare find, but one I am grateful to have come across. Great coffee and crepes were exquisite. Well done!

Fantastic, authentic small French restaurant with only fresh food and ingredients. Really impressed with the host, quality, service, and food. Highly recommended, but remember you need to book as they can run out of food because it’s all fresh!

Had lunch at this place. Nice environment and good service. However, the menue doesn’t have the variety. Food is very overpriced for what you get. Paid 27 dollards for a small portioned cheese and bread plate. You don’t get anything special for the money you pay.

We loved this restaurant! Kevin and his wife Lori run it and they bend over backwards to ensure that you are looked after and that you enjoy your dining experience with them. It is a must. Great, intimate atmosphere too. Good date night destination!

Best almond croissant in Melbourne and the most delicious coffee in the area. Staff and owners are lovely and above and beyond to accommodate everyone.

I saw all these reviews with this amazing toastie (croquet Monsieur) and I would like to confirm that it's really good.

Apart from that, service was impeccable, food and coffee was great!

Delicious food and superb service! The potato and leak soup with some melted goat cheese is just amazing!

LOVE the dining environment! It's so pretty and carefully designed! Even the inside of their fridge looks better than my home lol
My heart goes to their duck liver mousse. I wish I could have a 10 inch cake size of that yumminess!

As a breakfast and lunch destination Tapenade is reallu terrific. A simple but tastefully cooked and served menu, with delightful service and modest prices. Book first because Tapenade is popular with nearby Alfred Hospital and other workers.

Really enjoyed this moment there. The staff is really nice. Always smiling, taking care of you. Great food and price more than correct for this quality.
