Tahbilk - Cellar Door reviews
47What a beautiful historical winery! Thanks to Michael who made our wine tasting experience so enjoyable! Would definitely come back
Love this winery! We visit once/twice year. Cellar door is great and wine tastings are led by knowledgeable staff. The restaurant is set up by the wetlands, offering lovely views and serenity. Thr food is delicious. The menu is not huge but this guarantees freshness.
My favourite wine is Marsanne.
My favourite winery in Australia. Michael took us through a tasting and was so friendly and helpful. He made us all feel so welcome and talked us through all the wines in such a patient and informative manner, we loved him. We’ll be back for the Friday night music gigs over January 2024!
What an unexpected experience we had yesterday at Tahbilk. We were in the area for our anniversary and had the absolute pleasure of spending an hour with Michael at the cellar door. So knowledgeable about the area, the history of the winery and of course the wines. Monday meant we had the place to ourselves and we enjoyed every moment. Complimentary tasting and just a wonderful history lesson and experience. We will definitely be back.
This is the 2nd time we have been to Chateau Tabhilk this year. We managed to buy the same Muscat, must have really liked it. The staff are lovely and very knowledgeable. Wondering around the old buildings is a history lesson
We found Michael who assisted us in choosing some Tahbilk wines so helpful, friendly and very pleasant. He remembered our (very similar) names and gave us excellent guidance without sounding like a a pompous git. We thoroughly enjoyed learning about Tahbilk wines from Michael
It was a really great experience. Best of all, it was free! No pressure to buy and genuinely tasty wines. I’m really not a wine lover but I think they changed my mind. Nice place for a walk as well.
Today had an incredible experience at Tahbilk Winery. The picturesque vineyard setting was simply enchanting.
Michael at the cellar door impressed us with his extensive knowledge of their wines, offering spot-on recommendations. The blend of flavors, textures and profiles of the wine exceptional (better than those of Mitchelton). The wine selection was equally impressive, showcasing their rich history.
Michael's expertise in the wine was impressive, just like his suggestion of the mushroom croquettes from the restaurant. Indeed a revelation – they were to die for! Overall, Tahbilk Winery left us with a lasting impression of delicious food, superb wines, and exceptional service.
Wonderful place to visit - try the Marsane and great reds too - beautiful- easy access - well worth it
Stopped in to do a quick tasting and ended up walking out with a mixed case of our favorite goodies. Michael looked after us and we cannot recommend him highly enough! Would love to come back and explore more, as we were on a bit of a time constraint. Beautiful place, beautiful wine and beautiful people
Great winery all round. Lots of good info on the site's history, generous tastings and lovely wine.
Our group of 9 visited Tahbilk today and were seated and served by Lyn. Lyn was brilliant, she was knowledgeable, friendly and clearly passionate about Tahbilk’s extensive range of wines. The wines we tasted were genuinely wonderful, but the overall experience was enhanced by our fabulous host. Thank you Tahbilk, but particularly Lyn for a wonderful tasting experience.
Such a fab experience in the cellers. Michael is so knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about his job
We had a terrific day at Tahbilk on 2 October 2022. Holly had arranged a private tasting experience in the Museum. Michael was our host who was very knowledgeable and engaging. We then had lunch overlooking the river and the food and wine (2006 1860 vines shiraz) was fantastic. After lunch we walked through the underground cellars and bought some wine to take home. You can't help but feel it's a very old and special place, made even better by the friendly staff.
Like travelling back in time, historic winery & vineyard Tahbilk, homes the oldest grapes in Victoria’s Nagambie wine region, set on the banks of the Goulburn river.
Worth a tasting and a look around and a step into the cellars down below.
The Marsanne has always been a favourite of mine & it remains a winner in the lineup of wines on offer.
Beautiful free cellar door, restaurant and wetland trails. Highly recommend if you're in the area.
We had a wonderful time at Tahbilk over the weekend. We were well looked after by Michael and Holly.
We arrived with our big puppy and we weren't quite sure if it would be a suitable place for him, however they were so accommodating. They set up some chairs at the window and ran us through the wine tasting there, allowing our pup to feel part of it with his bowl of water.
Michael and Holly were knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating.
Great experience!
Beautiful lunch over looking wetlands - so peaceful. Then lovely wine tasting and amazing service from Michael at The Cellar door! Loved the history behind this lovely winery, and Michael’s knowledge was fantastic- thank you Tahbilk Winery for a lovely day!
Good wine. Excellent under ground cellar experience. Very good service we ordered 3 mains. Loved the fish and the eggplant. The beef though slow cooked was dry and chicken was also pain. The croquettes and cheese board was really good. Great experience otherwise
A beaut place, staff very friendly and knowledgeable.
Dog friendly and the farmers market quaint.
