Taco Bill - Collins St reviews
66 I came here because I wanted to relive my memories of the 90s when taco bills (Mornington) was the place to be.
Unfortunately (Collins St) did not tick those boxes as I remembered.
The decor itself hasn't changed at all which is a bit surprising as it looked worn-out and very dated. The salsa n chips were watery and stale, the sangria was nowhere near what I remember it tasted weird to me.
The tacos were OK but seemed skimpy n small I could have eaten a dozen and still left hungry I reckon.
Unfortunately my favourite place of the 90s didn't live up to my memories. I wasn't able to convince my daughter how great the experience was way back then tonight which made me somewhat sad.
Absolutely pathetic food! Waste of time and money. I bought a burrito bowl, more than half the ingredients were off. Absolute rip off! Very disappointed.
The food was great. Service was amazing too. Great prices on Frozen Margaritas. I advise Fruit Punch and Fruit Tingle.
Great mexican/Tex-mex food! Staff is friendly and inviting. Good tequila I have been here multiple times and the food and service is always great.
Enjoyed a work Christmas lunch yesterday. The restaurant wasn't overly crowded during our time there and the staff were attentive. The meals were tasty as were the margaritas.a great place all round.
Highly unrecommended! Service is really bad
Ordered a sparkling mineral water literally has no gas in it
Food was cold
And when i went to pay the girl waitress started talking in a different language i felt she’s talking about me
The food was excellent, really enjoyed that part of the evening. It was also a nice venue.
However I did have some issues.
The main one being that my booking which I’d made early in the morning was not registered. So we walked in and were somewhat fortunate that there were a few spare tables. Clearly your management team need to better manage the online booking system.
Secondly, the food took just over half an hour to come out after we had ordered which I thought was a little on the lengthy side (was only me and one other person). Particularly given it wasn't super busy.
And thirdly after responding to an email I received asking for feedback about my experience, I did not get any form of any confirmation that my email was received! Would have been nice just to get a courtesy thanks for responding etc. Not expecting a full briefing or anything, but it is nice to know that I'm not wasting my time giving feedback.
Overall the experience was decent but in my opinion I have been to much better Taco Bills (Springvale, Beaconsfield).
We have been to Taco Bills for 10 years or so and we are never let down. The owner is very nice and the food is a good size with heaps of flavour. You can taste the love in the food as well as the freshly made drinks they serve you. Defidently would recommend this restaurant. When it's your birthday they will give you a big Mexican hat! The Margarita drinks are delicious, fresh and tangy and there are non- alcoholic ones for the kids!
Regrettably we didn’t get to eat here today because I’d missed the small print on the Groupon voucher. If you haven’t pre-booked by 30 minutes you can’t use your voucher.
I offered to return in half an hour but because they now knew what I looked like they wouldn’t allow me to use a voucher for the remainder of the day.
I declined the offer of full priced dining and using my voucher another time and found another Mexican restaurant in the city.
Taco Bills was about a third full and it was 7pm. There is a chance they were expecting a rush and didn’t want to have a table with discount diners.
I will remember how welcome we felt when choosing a restaurant in the future.
Terrible service. Went into the store on one week for a date, instead we had to leave because we needed a booking. Cam back the next week to eat with a booking for 7, then we were told that the vouchers we had last week couldn’t be used on weekends which resulted in us leaving again, hungry again
Very nice staff but the nachos I ordered were very, very mediocre. Not nearly enough salsa made them dry and not appetizing. Was really disappointed.
I've been there yesterday and girl (basically managing everything) took ages to take my order. Surprisingly, a restaurant during special events (Eminem) without enough staff. Didn't feel welcome and i really wanted to leave asap. Just wasted time and money for poor customer service. Food was delicious though.
Had a meal from the lunch specials. Pulled beef tacos. Very tasty, but not enough meat. Will go back to try a different meal.
Very poor service, specially from one of the staff that doesn't seem to have any experience in customer service at all.rude and food is not real Mexican.just go there if you just want to have an average meal.
I love this place! Special lunch time the people who work there are so nice they remenber my order and always really polite and nice!
lunch time special my favorite, also good price for lunch time!
Food is always great. Only negative, don't sit to close to the bathrooms, always seems to smell a bit.
I hate to be "that guy". But this place definitely caters to the Australian palate. Now, obviously there is nothing wrong with that, but I was looking for something a little more "authentic" or at least like something I could get in America. The chips needed much more salt, and they needed to be warm. The chips I received had probably just come from a bag that was at room temperature. My enchiladas also had no real spice to them, and one didn't really have a lot of filling in it. Perhaps I had my hopes up a bit too high after reading other reviews, but I unfortunately can't say I'd come here again.
Awesome place! The food is so tasty
The costumer service is amazing, so lovely and friendly people working there, Definitely I’ll back
If you like Tex Mex you'll probably enjoy it more than me. I just prefer more traditional Mexican food.
Rude waitress why? Becuase we had groupon voucher. Made us feel cheap and did a slow service. Asked for a coke came in a glass whIch was very close to being flat. I don't like waitresses speaking in their own language loudly in front of customers. We live in Australia it's a English speaking country
