39 Tried both the ricotta and chocolate conolli, really enjoyed them.
I preferred the ricotta, whereas my partner enjoyed the choc lots more.
The espresso is really strong!
If you love cannoli as much as I do, look no further! I have had cannoli at the best and trendiest places but nothing beats this old Italian place! I love the old style decor as well. Coffee is nice but ricotta cannoli and crostolli are amazing!
I call this place the Institute of Sicilian Cultural Studies! The pastries and the people are real gems. One of the best cafe/sweet shops in Melbourne, certainly in the West
A family owned and run business supplying our family traditional Sicilian sweets for three generations. Do yourself a favour and try their fresh ricotta or custard cannoli and their delicious amaretti biscuits.
By far the worst coffee I have had since moving to Melbourne a year ago. The coffee was over extracted, and tasted like some of the grinds made it into the cup, and to top it off, it was scalding hot! Too hot to carry in the take away cup.
I have walked passed this place so many times, thinking it looked nice, I won't be tempted again.
So disappointed place an order on Wednesday, only to have my order given to us incorrectly, the young man was so rude, and raised his voice, instead of finding a simple solution, human error can occur but there’s no need for one to behave in a rude manner, my question is how would he feel is someone spoke to him as he did to me!
Most underrated or under the radar Italian pastry shop in Footscray. Highly recommend the ricotta cannoli.
If you're wondering what Footscray shops were once like? Let this place give you an example like a blast from the past. This shop has been standing here for decades! Nice homemade cannoli.
I have been going here for >10 years and my go to is always the ricotta cannoli. It’s the one store that makes me squeal like a kid and service is always lovely.
BETTER THEN THE GODFATHER
LEAVE YOUR MONEY TAKE THE CANNOLI can not wait to come back again:)
BEST. CANNOLIS. IN. MELBOURNE!
My god, I dream about these all the time.
That crunch…the creamy ricotta…chefs kiss!
There is nothing more satisfying than the crunch when you bite into their freshly piped cannoli.
Ricotta filled cannoli mmm, delicious and well worth the trip, and the people are so lovely and helpful
I either get Cannolis from my family or from this cafe. No one can make them like these guys do!
Freshly piped ricotta cannoli, what more could you ask for? Oh and the crostoli is great too? Well even better! Best in the West.
For probably 70 yrs our family has had cannoli and sweets from Cavallaro. My parents came from the Eolian islands of Sicily and were close paisani with the one that stared it all in the fifties. Every special occasion had a cake or cannot from Cavallaro. Even our wedding cake 47 yrs ago as well as our childrens christening cake. Still not a Christmas New Year or Easter goes by without Cavallaro cannot. Still the best saluti the Russo / Bonaddio. Family
Real family establishment, service with a smile, and the ricotta cannoli was out of this world!
Not sure what all the fuss is about, I didn't think the cannoli was that great. Cute little shop though and good service.
After hearing so many amazing stories about Cavallaros, thought I'd take a hike and give these famous cannoli a try.
Wow!
I've had many cannoli through the years, but nothing to this quality.
I had the pleasure of meeting Carmelo and his beautiful family. Carmelo proceeded to tell me his amazing story, and how his dad Tomasso founded the business over 60 years ago.
Such a warm humble man, a true gentleman.
Do yourself a favour and try the cannoli, each and every one individually hand made to perfection.
You will definateiy be back for more,
l assure you.
