I am a local and have shopped here pretty regularly for fresh produce. So I got a chia pudding yesterday. It was rotten. So disgusting and so disappointing.

To be honest am not super surprised. I have also seen them trying to sell organic meat that is out of date. They freeze it, as if that makes it ok. Doesn't seem legit to me.

Food at cafe was good and fresh, although not in abundance, the breakfast tacos were good. Bought a dozen organic eggs, just got back to Melbourne to realise that they have 2 days left before their best before date. Disappointing given the premium prices. Very average overall.

Cafe section: Ridiculous prices, and no flavour.
Supermarket section: Ridiculous prices, but some good products.

It's a shame the staff lack any enthusiasm or professionalism in this lovely, though expensive, store. The coffee was drinkable once I got (almost) what I ordered. Won't be back.

Pretty slack with the lack of vegan items on the menu now. They have so much potential! Even if I order the avo on toast vegan without cheese etc I can hardly justify spending $17 on it. I Chose to go over to the coffee club instead and pay less than half the price for avo on toast which is easily made vegan.

They created a new menu and took one of the vegan options off which is very disappointing. The only options are an açai bowl (not a satisfying meal) or quinoa porridge. Not enough variety at all. One of the options was banana waffles and I don’t understand how these could not be made vegan? What do you need to put in waffles that makes them not vegan? Egg? Milk? You’d think a place like this would realise that these ingredients are easily replaced (especially in banana wafffles egg can easily be replaced by banana). Pretty dippapointed and could find a lot more vegan options at cafes down the road that don’t even specify that they cater to vegans.

The service in the grocery part of this store lacks professionalism and presence. We've been in half a dozen times and each time we left bewildered. We'll go to Geelong for our wholefoods needs.

It's such a shame the staff here do not care much for serving customers, as it is a beautiful store with a whole range of great product and produce. We love supporting small business and I really wanted Surfcoast Wholefoods to redeem itself after several bad experiences, but my last time there was my last time.after being ignored at the register by several staff, I left pretty annoyed and empty handed.
