Sun Wah

We (I and my partner, our friend) went to try their chef tasting menu ($99 each person for 7 course) tonight, food presentation was ok, portion was really small, literally just one small piece in a big plate, and the food tasted really bad! Free appetites had a weird smell that you couldn’t tell if it went bad already; first course scallops with crispy pork, scallops had no flavour, my friend said it was kind raw inside, crispy pork was very greasy and pork skin not crispy at all ; 2nd course hargow dumpling, worse than frozen dumpling. I felt really embarrassed as it was our treat to a good friend. So I talked to the boss (chef), she kept talking about how good their food was, how fresh their ingredients were, then she said they could not control the food quality from supplies, and nothing they can do if we dont like their food, I think she was so arrogant and didn’t want to listen to customer’s feedback. We ended up paying for the 2 courses and leaving earlier. Will never come again and I suggest you go somewhere else for dinner as there are many more great restaurants out there.

Upon arrival it took over 15 mins to order a drink. Food has always been good quality, however the portion sizes have become miserly, with obvious cost cutting reducing sizes. Prices are well above the normal, like $38 for a dish of only 7 prawns, (there were 4 of us - so I could only have 1). Then they forgot our 4th dish which came 30 mins after we finished the previous 3.
It would be more acceptable if we didn't leave whilst still hungry. Faced with a bill of $390 which included charges for items we never ordered or ate. Glad I read it thoroughly before paying. Unfortunately my last visit after having been there many times over the years.

Hi other dishes are good but your rice is too oily and tastes like its been there for a week
Need to improve you run a restaurant should be nicer

First time able to go out for a while and it was a memorable experience. The food was excellent and beautifully presented and staff members were very attentive. Clifford's knowledge of the wines available was excellent. The courses from the chef's selection were well spaced and feedback was sought with the collection of the used dishes. Great evening and will be returning soon.

Lovely atmosphere, although when ordering drinks the staff member kept stating he was stressed due to lack of staff but have to say the wait staff were excellent. Paid $20 each for our cocktails and they were awful, food was good, overall an enjoyable experience.

Great restaurant with exceptional service. We had the eight course tasting menu. All the food was amazing and very tasty apart from the desserts. It was disappointing as there were eclairs, baked alaska etc. Perhaps get the desserts from elsewhere. Parking is also a little difficult. Otherwise a great experience.

Fabulous food & staff.and the best Espresso Martini! Very loud but that shows people were enjoying themselves

We had a great time the staff were fantastic the chef was excellent she even came and had a chat after the meal. Nothing but praise for this place Hope to be back again soon the food was really really brilliant

Partner has food allergy, they bent over backwards to accommodate him, they changed there "Feed Me"6 course menu to suit him.

Albert's 70th Chef's Menu was delicious - with the Lobster Hargow Dumplings, Malayasian Shrimp Keuh Pie Tee and Lechon Pork Belly - real standouts and matched with some delightful wines.

First visit and would go back again. The restaurant is nicely decorated and the waiting staff were attentive and very friendly.
We asked for the gf menu which they have but they said they could do a banquet for the group and just substitute certain courses for the two GF people.great service. The food was plentiful and lovely. I really liked the duck croquettes (the gf ones were not crumbed but still lovely)
They were very responsive when I contacted via email about GF beer as their online menu it seems was not up to date.

What a wonderful dining experience!

Love this place food is always amazing staff go above and beyond for their customers. Always willing to have a chat would recommend to anyone. We brought friends on Saturday night they loved the food.

The service was outstanding, and the food was so very delicious. We have been to Sun Wah so many times. The food and service of this restaurant has always been outstanding never has the standard dropped. Staff are friendly and have a high standard of service. Thank you Sun Wah for a great night. Will be back.

We had a amazing experience for Chinese New Year as Sun Wah. The kids loved the lion dance. Sang Karaoke and played the games.

Went here for the 8 course degustation for Valentine's day.
Was an excellent way to try menu items that you wouldn't normally. All the food was very tasty and cooked very well. Spacing between courses was done so you had time to socialise as well as letting the last course settle. Full experience took just under 2 hours and was lovely. Highlights were the lobster dumplings and wagyu beef with fried rice.
Service was great. Very friendly staff and no fuss at all when I spilt some water on the table. Only con being it seemed to require a little effort to get someone's attention so as to order drinks.
Atmosphere was nice. Good chatter among the guests. Only thing I would change is the music. Volume was good, but not what you'd expect to hear on a specialised Valentine's Day setting.
Would definitely go back though.
Wish I could give 4.5 stars as 4 feels harsh but just can quite give the 5.

We had the most beautiful dinner we did the feed me menu and my best friend doesn’t eat red meat and the changed to suit the service was great also thanks for a wonderful night
